How high is Dji Bailey's ceiling?

Dji is having an absolutely terrific year both on offense and defense and seems to be improving throughout the season, with his best game yesterday. With that said, I don’t think his reputation throughout the A10 is at the level of how well he is playing. This is primarily due to the huge improvement in his stats he has made since last year and the fact that he shares the floor with 4 other outstanding players, including a potential A10 player of the year.

However, I think the ceiling for Dji is very high, and I expect his reputation in the league will continue to improve throughout the rest of the season. With King, Quinn, and Bigelow moving on at the end of the season, I expect Dji to be selected to one of the preseason all A10 teams. I also expect him to evolve from an outstanding role player this year to potentially “The Man” next year. Looking further out, I believe he will have a very successful pro career.

Dji has demonstrated loyalty to the program, tried to excel at every role he has been assigned, worked hard, never gave up, and most importantly, is on the verge of succeeding well above all our expectations.

Expect to win

Figured I’d create a thread about this because it’s obviously very relevant. We all know what we need to do this week and that’s win at least a couple games to have a shot at getting in but screw that, let’s just win the tournament outright. I know I may get criticized for this but it seemed after the st joes game that we were acting like we won the national title by winning the regular season. It was a big deal but we have bigger and better goals to chase than that because tbh if we don’t make the tournament it doesn’t really matter. Also saw a lot of talk about how you can’t possibly leave the A10 regular season champ out if we get bounced in the league tournament almost as if we’re just assuming we’re not gonna win the thing. I agree we shouldn’t be left out but unfortunately that’s just not the way it is. Instead let’s just not even leave it up to anyone and go in with the opposite attitude where we’re the big dog on the block and that no one is beating us on our way to winning the league title this week. We went 15-3 in a very good league, won a lot of close games against solid teams so we know we can get this done.

One of my biggest criticisms of mooney has been that I think he’s kind of soft and I think a lot of times the team reflects that attitude. I’m challenging this program this week then by saying that. I’m sure some players and coaches read this board and I hope they see what I just said. Prove me wrong. I know they have the talent and ability to win 3 games this week so ain’t nothing to it but to do it. Don’t go in scared, nervous and thinking about what happens if we don’t win the tournament. Go in play loose, free, with intensity that we’ve seen this year and there’s no doubt in my mind that trophy is coming back to the University Of Richmond. Expect to win guys! 🔴🔵

Tech question

This and other boards often refer to "PMs" (private messages between posters on a message board). I believe that Rivals calls them "Conversations." I have recently been in a "conversation" with the moderator, and have spent a few hours trying to figure out, without success, if we on this board can have a private "conversation" with another poster on this board other than the moderator. My conclusion (which I am hoping is wrong) is that only the moderator can initiate a conversation with a poster on this board.

My question is have any of you been able to have such a PM or Conversation with another person on this board except with the moderator and initiated by the moderator and, if so, what steps did you take to initiate the conversation?

Input or suggestions from those of you who have any knowledge of this will be greatly appreciated.

Schools we should play

We should be scheduling some serious out of conference competition. We should play them any place, including a high school gym, they would agree, regardless of how poor a team we have. We need to compete against our peer schools.

Key Games -- NET standings and eventual bubble implications ..

Monday 1/29

While the team can and should only focus on the games they play, starting new thread for a daily list of games that matter most for us in terms of NET rankings.

Duke at VA Tech 7pm ESPN. - hard for many of us to do but rooting for Duke tonight (sorry SDad). Need it clear that Hokies are 3rd or 4th best team in the Commonwealth and get off the bubble.

NW State at McNeese State - 8pm ESPN+ - Highly unlikely tonight but rooting for NW State and for McNeese to not have a crazy long winning streak going into the Southland tourney.

Houston at Texas - 9pm ESPN. Hope Houston drills them by 20 (which might mean Texas plummets from 41 to 43.

Richmond 73 St. Joseph's 66 - These Spiders Earn Their Place in Program Lore!

Championsville must be getting a little crowded on campus as this historic team became the third premier Spiders program to earn a conference title this year!...they join Spiders Football and Women's Basketball...it's been a great roll for fans since September and hopefully there's more straight ahead for the Women and Men...congratulations to the players and coaches on this historic UR season...

last night gave fans another example of how this team just figures out what is necessary to win and gets it done...with Jordan King experiencing a subpar game Quinn, Hunt, Bigelow, Bailey, Walz, Harris and Tyne figured out how to beat the tough Hawks with a different role from King...it was an impressive time watching it unfold as until the very end Jordan was more of a facilitator for his teammates than a scorer!

these amateur clips include a good number of the most exciting plays at the critical times which finally put St. Joseph's away...there's also a bit of the post game celebration that you may not have seen if you were not at the Robins Center!

as I left the Robins Center last night with my attendance award (2 very nice UR caps) I thought of how great it's been to walk back to the parking lot a winner 15 times times this season...wow!...this team has given fans a great historic run...the way they are playing I won't be surprised if there are more good times straight ahead...

enjoy the highlights!

Women Hoops - first four out/Men - bid thief

Saw on ESPN today - women's hoops teams listed as first four out in latest bracketology. That is the place you want to be entering February - be in the NCAA conversation and give yourself a chance.

Men's team - does not appear on the bubble, but they have UR listed as auto bid from A10. SO not sure if we move of that AQ bid, would we be on the bubble? Assume so at this point.

Dartmouth Basketball votes to join union.

Dartmouth's team is 6-21, so they voted to join a Union. Would they demand money? How would they collectively bargain? Would they call a strike? Demand playing time? How would they force members to comply?

"The Dartmouth men's basketball team voted 13-2 Tuesday to join its local service employees union, marking the first time any group of college athletes has taken a public action as employees of their school and potentially setting a precedent that could significantly alter the business of college sports.

Last month, a regional director of the National Labor Relations Board ruled the Dartmouth players were employees of their school. Tuesday's vote was the players' first official action as employees and the next step toward bargaining with the school."
