Thanks for sharing. He looks very good and natural out there. Miss his ball handling skills — wish he would’ve looked to be a primary scorer when he was with us.
I always wonder what Kevin Anderson could’ve done in the NBA. Guy was such a special player with so much skill that I know would’ve translated well at the next level.
So glad Gilyard is getting a chance and taking advantage.
You'd think someone with the team would correct their TV guy by now. But also, "Gilyard" isn't THAT rare or confusing of a name that you would think to pronounce it the way he is.
Think KAs major issue was his speed. Wouldn't of been able to defend at the same level as someone with Gilyard's speed. I think KA could of played given the right situation, but he had his limitations as a NBA prospect comparatively.

The stage doesn't seem too big for him. So glad to see him getting a shot and making the most of it.
Here is a great link comparing Spiders in the NBA stats. We have had 4 and Gilly just past Schweitz for 3rd most Minutes and only needs 17 more minutes to pass Harper for 2nd place. We will have to wait about 18 years to see if he passes Johnny Newman who played over 28 thousand minutes. BTW, Newman has the most NBA points of any player from a Virginia college.

I watched the game, this is missing a few plays where Gilyard forced turnovers but was not credited with a steal, and a few plays other good defensive plays.
Gilly looking to even his personal series at 3pm against Bones Hyland which I think stands at 1-2 currently ..

Lots of people complaining that he's not even available to be selected in ESPN Fantasy. 😂
21 minutes now and 6 points/5 boards/3 assists/2 steals/zero turnovers. No shot attempts in awhile. Am only following the pbp so can't tell if he's making an impact with non-counting stats (hockey assists, etc.)
One thing missing from the box score is the announcers discussing how many starts Gilyard has had. Pretty funny.

The other great thing about this game was that Bones Hyland and Vince Williams were also there in unform but neither of them ever got off the bench.

kind of funny that Memphis coaches didn't realize that the winning mix that they had in previous years - with a true point guard to set up Bane and a true center to allow Jackson to play the 4 - was what they should go with when they lost their PG and C to suspension and injury. They tried to just go with a best players approach and it totally backfired with guys playing unfamiliar roles. Jackson is way more comfortable with a traditional big in there and while Smart is nominally a PG, he's really more of a combo guard in the NBA.

What happened to KA? I know he was coaching at Liberty and they were doing well then he just disappeared? Anyone have any ideas what happened or where he went?
According to his LinkedIn, he's out of coaching and back home in Atlanta working as an operations manager for Inspire Brands, which owns Arby's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dunkin', Jimmy John's, Sonic, etc.
If he was in marketing we could have a different sponsor every game…

There was some shoving under the basket after a fast break score by AD, resulted in a double technical. Then the teams got a little heated and players were getting in each others faces mid court, resulted in another double technical and a tech on the grizzlies coach.
Gilly just picked LeBron's pocket on two consecutive possessions, in between sinking a three.
