Well they were bound to win one eventually, I guess. Decent win for the league if nothing else. Penn State fans have to be beside themselves. Pay a guy $25M or whatever, let him bring his two best players with him and cause his old team to basically rebuild completely, then lose to them? Yikes.
Looks like the conference went 5-0 today, including URI winning after being down by 18 in the first half.
GW was also way down at half and won by 10 by putting up 56 in 2nd half. A10 doing sneakily well to pile up some wins. Lasalle is 5-1!!!

Penn State doesn't understand basketball or care to understand it. They finally had a coach and let him walk only to pay more $$$ for a lesser coach. While I am forced to be a Rhodes fan vis a vis my rooting for Penn State, I just don't see him succeeding there.
As for VCU, I'm sure when they get Bairstow back they will be better than they are now, but they don't scare me. They are running Nelson out as one of the core rotation right now, we saw how that played for us last year.
Penn State basketball is the exact same as Virginia football.
Doesn't matter for basketball, but that's another blow to CAA football.
Speaking of our opponents, who knew Colorado v. Colorado State on Wednesday would be a big game? Colorado State just beat Creighton by 21. So, go Buffaloes!
CSU has been a good program under Medved. down last year but 3 prior years were strong. It was too bad we had our game vs CSU & the MWC v A10 challenge canceled. Idk but my guess is they probably stack up somewhat evenly vs. CU over the last 25 years.
Schools that are dominant in one sport but are absolute trash in the other revenue sport always have bothered me. It should be illegal for UGA basketball to be as bad as they are.

We seem to have this love "affair" with the rivalry with William and Mary that exists for football should also translate over to hoops as well. But our hoops programs operate in entirely different atmosphere now and it makes scheduling them only a positive for their program. Beating William and Mary does nothing for us, losing to them is a disaster for us.
For me, I would tell William and Mary, you guys invest in your program and make it competitive and until you do, we are not scheduling you.
agreed and this Saturday we need to make the same statement on the court than what happened last year that was my most miserable live game (and I went to the Clemson and Toledo debacles as well)

Yes, they regularly kill it with MTEs. We primarily rely on Mooney's Princeton agent in the Gazelle Group! Charleston was already set. But I called VCU to Maui this summer on another thread. Felt coming bc Odom dad is chair of Maui committee.
LaSalle just lost 106-99 at Temple in 3OT. Temple attempted 96 shots from the floor and 44 from the FT line. Insane. Brickus for LaSalle scored 41.
