weren't they getting some preseason love as a potential top 4 A10 team at least, maybe better?
Yep. Some of the computer systems loved them in the preseason, and a few human prognosticators were taken in as well.
They did sort of hang with FAU and blew out a terrible EIU squad. But they definitely should have handed UIC (which they did last year when Loyola was terrible).
It’s only three games, so the jury is still out, but I’ll be surprised if they finish in the top half of the A-10. Which is what I thought before anything got underway.

And Richmond beat Boston College - oh wait, that didn't happen, we have Mooney.
I'm nitpicking here ... but both of those were on a neutral courts. it's great to get in those tournaments. it does seem to make a difference.
and I know BC isn't exactly Cameron. but a team that doesn't have to travel, sleeps in their own beds, stays on their schedule, and shoots on their rims has an advantage. LSU and OK State travelled.
We need to go no worse than 1-1 in Florida then.
SLU down 40-28 at halftime. Still a lot of time, but this is one of those match ups where if you look at the Head Coaching matchup, you think Vermont is due to give SLU a butt kicking. Hoping SLU can come back.

How about Dayton? Lose their PG right before the start of the season, and they're still out there knocking off LSU and St. John's.
LSU and SJU are great teams to play. both are big names, and both aren't very good.
A little bit like BC.
BC isn't as big a name, but yeah.
Dayton is better than us. they were preseason #1 in the A10. and they got those two on a neutral court.
Guarantee those "bad" wins will look better than our "good" loss all season long.
Even worse. Got beat by a not so big name in an empty gym after leading by 14. Hope the neutral court thing works its magic next week.

Some interesting outcomes yesterday. Mike Jones an UNC-G went and beat Arkansas. SDSU routed St. Mary's. St. Mary's is playing a real difficult OOO slate, I guess it can be scheduled. Again, when you win consistently good things are possible.
