Well almost 9pm prior to game day at 1130 and will start the game thread since there doesn’t appear to be one / our talent and the heart of the seniors should win this game and the next one to lead us to the quarters where we potentially face SLU … Go Spiders from down the street from Rupp arena in Lexington where we had a nice little victory less than 3 years ago

It's 11:30. It was originally a noon start when they announced the schedule months ago, but they updated it.

Looks like a typical Martin team hitting the O glass hard. So Spider surprisingly season of good D rebounding has to show up. Analyzing them starting 5 has size, team doesn't shoot many 3PTA while most of points come from inside the arc and FL. We know how poor Spiders have been protecting the paint. Must be better tomorrow.

Here's a kenpom stat comparison. League Offensive Efficiency vs Defensive Efficicency Spiders are -5.4 while UMass at -5.5. It's a coin flip or at Draftkings Spiders -1.5 presently.

Let’s hope that the Spiders have an advantage with the early tip time. Only 1 such game for UMass and got blown out by Davidson. Unfortunate timing for me and will have to be scoreboard watching with occasional peeks at this thread.

Definitely like the draw as compared to what it would have been if the Spiders finished higher, so very small consolation there. Getting off to a good start and not digging a big hole in the first half will be the keys. Expecting lots of chaos in this tournament and hope the Spiders are part of it. Go Spiders!

LOl yes you're right we give up a good % of points from deep but a team like UMass who scores often inside combined with most of the team playing matador defense other than Goose and Dji (not playing) doesn't bode well.

I have done the same college tour. Be sure to stop off in London, KY. There is also a Paris Kentucky, just north of Lexington. If you stop at both, you can tell people you went to both London and Paris. Feel free to remind your child that you went to London and Paris on a college tour. There is Paris, TN, but that is way off the beaten path for you.

I can see why you’re worried about them making too many 3PT. Goes against the grain of what they did in league play being 26%, 53% and 21% respectively..

Still think forcing them to shoot contested (hopefully that is) 3PTA rather than go inside is the way to go. Preventing too many second chance points must happen also.
