Mens: Maine @RC - Wed 11/20 7pm ESPN+

Looking forward to a repeat of the 44–42 barnburner we saw the only other time we've played the Black Bears, kicking off Mooney's third season with the Spiders.

Think all our guys can't be as bad as first few games. Glou or Neako goes for 18. GW3 gets some action in gets a dunk and a 3 and Mooney promptly puts him back on the bench in charge of his sippy cup.
While Walz recovers Beagle and Soulis combine for 14 and 12 boards. Hunt is Hunt and gets 19. Spiders win 72 to 66.

Please pass the peyote.

They say I'm not positive on here. I really do think these guys have more talent than showing so far. As duly noted by others Moon will keep pounding the square pegs in the round holes. We will need the players to figure out how to excel. And I still can't believe that GW3 and McGlothin can't get minutes over Graham. Blows my mind.

Looks like our PR department is already in mid-season form - this is from the digital program for tonight's game.

Two things:
1) it’s pretty unconscionable that anyone would not bother to proof something before publication. That’s just the height of laziness.
2) it’s alarming that in spite of there being a pattern of these kinds of errors that occur repeatedly each year, athletic leadership hasn’t changed their process or performers who keep making these mistakes. Permissive management.

I mean everyone is allowed to make a mistake once in a while but not over and over again.

I tried to be optimistic this year. I predicted 11 wins in the OOC with a win over Auburn. I also predicted they would win the past 3 games, even after losing the prior games. So in an effort to reverse the curse, I will go back to my pessimistic ways.

Prediction for tonight. Our shooting woes continue, especially with DLO - who is held to single digits. Our lack of scoring kills us. Maine takes advantage and a close game in the first half turns into a 10+ point win for Maine in the 2nd half.

Maine 64 UR 53

Also on a side note looking at Maine's schedule. They seem to playing in an event in Philadelphia after Thanksgiving where they play Elon, UPENN, and Navy. Not saying those are great teams by any stretch of the imagination. But is it possible that Maine got a better event lineup than we did with Florida Tech, Louisisana Tech, and Ball State.

"Possible". None of their opponents is D2, so I think more than "possible".

The photo might be worse. He looks like a headmaster at an all-male prep boarding school but is actually a child predator in disguise.

Any thoughts on health of Walz or White?

And I do feel like we are forcing outside shots. As in all outside shooters are still in motion when they shoot.
Hoping that changes sometime.

But back to the communication above. It's crazy. It's so bad, it's like they have a memo to put out bad content in order to de-emphasize the program. Ugghh. Thinking Maine money line now.
He's lost for words............or he ate them.

If you can't do the simple things well, how likely is it that you can do the more difficult well? This is what most concerns me.

And (at least for final warmup ) Roche has black knee brace on that I guess I don't remember seeing the last few games ?

It would be nice to see a good game out of Roumoglou. 6-32 to start the season and I’m starting to cover my eyes everytime he shoots. Something I haven’t done since Deion Taylor

I was wondering if the constant subbing in and out has anything to do with forced shots. Maybe we need to let these guys, reserves included, settle in for a little longer so they don't feel pressure to score right away when out there. I normally don't worry as much about that, but we need to consider that when things are going so poorly right now. Maybe all the new guys are trying too hard and forcing things instead of running the offense and letting the game come to them. AP especially might be rushing shots. He has taken some bad ones and has to be a much better shooter than 4-22 from 3. Maybe starting him and letting him settle in will help.

Just saw the lineup. Almost exactly what I was hoping for. I wanted AP and Roche to start, but thought maybe Dusan instead of Tyne. But, maybe Tyne can play better with this group. And, I realize Dusan for Tyne leaves just one main ball handler. Just glad we are mixing it up.

Right might as well experiment - let's go

Two bad turnovers by Beagle looking for cutters who weren't there, but he's also got 3 assists. Tyne with an airball in the lane, D-Lo missing two layups from 3 feet. Gotta do better.
