2024–25 schedule

Where do u have them 5, E or 5E? J/k urfan1

But backcourt is their strength. Which u would choose first over frontcourt. As 4700 would say…3 guard lineup. Also almost all those guards r like 6’4-6’8. They’re big unlike most of ours. A few of them could play the “3” forward in the traditional sense.
6 guards (1 under 6‘3”) 7 forwards (4 that can play center)

Of note from the team picture last week, it seemed that AP was taller than Nescovic by an inch. So Nescovic likely closer to 6'7"?

Spiders have pretty good size balance IMO, though I do wish we had at least one 6'4" guard skills guy like Dji to help on other teams' taller scoring guards.

Tanner? Perhaps…

And I have been waiting for a team picture here

Isn’t it usually above the roster?

You like to find fault though others rejected your premise . And, you
didn’t answer the question. If teams don’t want to play us what are we to do
about it? Maybe we should put up billboards around the country- “IS YOUR SCHOOL AFRAID TO PLAY US?”
We’ll make you honorary Captain Billboard, going around putting them up.

it's not my problem to solve.

Best regards,
Captain Billboard

I thought it was the "Captain Billboard Man" gets paid.

would love to see the team picture. can you link it please?

thanks.
we list Robinson at 6'6" and McGlothin at 6'8" ... yet Robinson looks substantially bigger than McGlothin. if Roche is 6'5", I'll give McGlothin 6'6" and Robinson 6'7" along with Dusan. AP and D'Entremont at 6'8".

whatever GW3 likes ... but 40 doesn't look right to me on a guard! that's a number for Beagle.

and we've got some ugly team shoes. look like solid black sneakers with red galoshes.

I'm sure the Gulf Coast folks are trying to get another team to join. Problem is it is September 26th and they haven't yet, and every day that goes by, the chances of them finding someone gets less. And as well all know the product they are trying to sell is not very appealing.
it's October now. should have called every team twice by now.

There's only about 20 schools left to announce their schedules. All of them except Saint Peter's are known to be in MTEs.

Saint Peter's is an interesting case and I wonder if they're still a possibility...they have 27 games listed on their schedule but haven't officially announced it with a press release. So they can add a few more, and they have nothing listed between November 20 and December 3. It was Rocco who said they weren't doing an MTE, but maybe that's not accurate? They would get us to 6 teams to at least allow for 3 games.

Regardless, the hill to climb to reach a full field is awfully steep.

We will announce our Gulf Coast Matchups at Thanksgiving Dinner…

There is a non-zero chance that they could potentially cancel the whole thing if they can't wrangle in another sucker or 3 for their tournament. The women's bracket is announced and tickets are on sale on their website. Men's side of the bracket is all "check back soon". It's been that way for a while.

In case it isn’t obvious, I meant we will announce on 11/28 who we are playing on 11/25…

Welp, Saint Peter’s just announced their schedule and no MTE. Only 28 games on the schedule including 8 non-con, but one is against FDU on 11/26.

Haha, the MTE disaster train rubbernecking hits a mile marker. Would an NAIA team have to be the host like D2/3 would?

Just so I’m caught up, there are zero D1 teams by your count that could join the MTE?

Correct, there appear to be zero teams available (and have been for a while now, but the schedule releases that are winding down to the last few are making it more official).

Saint Peter’s was a last glimmer of hope considering they had games left under the cap and hadn’t yet confirmed the 11/26 FDU matchup on their side, but now that last gasp ship for them has apparently sailed as well.

And yes, any non-DI team including NAIA would have to be a host in order to participate.

My contact at Florida Southwestern State College says those dates r open! maybe it will come down to how much the Gulf Coast Classic & Showcase wants to pay them, i.e. how much Richmond, primarily, wants to pay them to "host".

too bad re: Saint Peters. they elevated themselves a bit with that ncaa run, idk why not keep name out there if u can & go all the way dowsn to only 28 games. they could have made it work. But honestly teams decline bc of cost. Maybe the high end MTEs can make u $$ or at least cover costs, these other ones like ours I assume was too much $ out of pocket for some low budget teams.

I would presume the 5 schools involved in this are sending lots of e-mails/calls to Gulf Coast folks wanting to know how this is all going to play out.

the non-GCS games for the A10 are on ESPN+ again I assume?
At least the home games will be. Away games will depend on who we play. For instance, at William and Mary will probably be on FloSports since that’s the streaming agreements the CAA has. I think at Charlotte and Bucknell will be ESPN+. At Auburn may be on SEC sports network.

Doubt we play WM in an A10 conference game.

But glad someone mentioned the other OOC games…

The A-10 of course also has some games on traditional ESPN channels, CBSSN, USA, and Peacock. The rest of the conference games should all be on ESPN+. Our non-conference home games should also be on ESPN+, and as noted, non-conference away games would be on whatever the home teams' arrangements are.

VCU with another good one lined up for next season. They're in this one just about as frequently as allowed under the rules. Davidson's in it this season, and Dayton's been in it very recently too.
