The competition thread

Here is an interesting statistic. After UVA's loss, the ACC is 1-10 against non conference AP ranked opponents currently.

Vandy rolled over Alcorn State and Loyola destroyed Illinois State. But UNI got hammered by Missouri State....fought back from a 12 point deficit to tie it with about 10 minutes to play, and then got outscored 28–8 from there.

The next game will tell me all I need to know about this team going forward. We need to explode out of the gate in league play and show everybody that the Hofstra game was an anomaly. Last year we were on the bubble because of the Radford game, I think had we won that game we would have clearly been in the NCAA tournament no question. I don't want the Hofstra game to be this year's Radford. I want to see how the team responses against Davidson.

Please bring the FIRE and sense of urgency that we saw the last 10 games last year!! And Lord, please don't return to the poor free throw shooting that we have seen for so many Mooney years (I'm looking at you Cayo AND Francis).

Good news! UNI is out to a 4–0 lead in the rematch against Missouri State!

Clemson, Va. Tech and FSU may have the strongest teams in the ACC this year.
I hate to say it but Tech’s 7 and 1 record is very deceiving. Only were up by 4 at the half over longwood this past week and had a very tight game with vmi a few weeks back. Pulled a couple top 25 upsets so far but not sure this team is any better than .500 in a weak ACC this year.

SLU has paused. Game against Duquesne has been postponed, so with us and Duquesne having already postponed before Christmas, the Dukes have to try to squeeze in two makeups already and they haven't even started the A-10 slate.

GW may be a dumpster fire shedding players left and right, but they're still spanking Fordham. :D

But Fordham was favored.

I assume the expectations of Fordham based on last season were greater than the reality of GW this season. But apparently, the reality of Fordham this season was not...

At this point, Fordham should just disband their program. I mean they played their first game of the season today (great job with your COVID protocols) and then they get absolutely hammered by a team that just lost 3 of its better players in the past week and also probably the second worst team in the league next to Fordham.

71–47 steamrolling by GW...maybe a combination of addition by subtraction and Fordham being just plain terrible as always.

Intrigued by the Bona-URI matchup coming at the top of the hour.

I mean the league is called the Atlantic 10 even though we have 14 teams, so really there's no issue trimming the fat and just axing Fordham. We've got 4 built-in slots to allow that. Sayonara!

Rhody up 5 on Bona, but Fatts with another stat line of 1-for-8 with five turnovers. Don’t understand the love for this guy.

Probably trying to do too much. They pretty much lost the squad he has been playing with the last 3 years.

Chase Johnson stepping away from Dayton. Big loss for them. No indication when he might be back, but he also left school temporarily back in January.

Rhode Island just had 14 assists and 24 turnovers against the Bonnies and still won. Wow.

44 total turnovers in the game. Yikes

La Salle hits the bucket to go up two with 2.5 seconds to play!

Edit: Explorers steal the inbounds pass and hang on for the win. First win for La Salle at Dayton in 21 years.
