looks great and fills a need. will be interesting to see how the pieces fit.Adds size and a threat from 3. Love the addition.

Yes, Sy Chatman. This leaves us with one open scholarship, correct? Curious if we're going to look at bringing one more guy in or if this is it.
Maybe Trap can convince Mooney to turn him into a center?I hope Isaiah can be the three-point threat we need, but I don't love that he was under 30% last year. In fact, he's a career 30% shooter from there if you take out his 13-for-18 against non-DI schools. Those four games pad his stats by three percentage points.
Would love that. As I've seen you and others mention, this last spot should be a F/C imo. Would be nice to let Walz redshirt/not be forced to play backup 4/5 minutes if we get in foul trouble. With Bigelow, we're loaded at G/wing.Yes, Sy Chatman.
I think Bigelow & Crabtree & Goose & Dji for that matter too all can turn up from 3 this year coming off of injuries, getting back into the groove, etc.I hope Isaiah can be the three-point threat we need, but I don't love that he was under 30% last year. In fact, he's a career 30% shooter from there if you take out his 13-for-18 against non-DI schools. Those four games pad his stats by three percentage points.
At least defensively, I think Bigelow is more of a 4 than Noyes. I have not seen either of them play.PG - Dji / Nelson
SG - Goose /Crabtree / Randolph/Dread
SF - Burton/Bigelow
PF - Grace/Noyes
C - Quinn/ Walz
OK, one more spot to go. Based on 4700's recent posts, guessing we may be done. I would still like to see us go after a Sy Chatman type of size and athlete.
I think he can be a factor from 3. I realize the percentage was low this year, but I see an always great FT shooter with good form and range. Wouldn't surprise me to next year see him closer to his 39% from 2 years ago than his 30% this past year. There are also 33%ish guys you can leave open, and 33%ish guys you need to guard. I think he is a guy the other team won't leave open, which will make everyone else better when he is out there.I hope Isaiah can be the three-point threat we need, but I don't love that he was under 30% last year. In fact, he's a career 30% shooter from there if you take out his 13-for-18 against non-DI schools. Those four games pad his stats by three percentage points.
Well, 7-8 is still 7-8. I like the fact he had some games where he shot and made a high amount of 3s.7-for-8 from three against D-II North Greenville in 2019...maybe we can get them on the schedule.
Ok done waitingStill waiting
Or how about this lineup for long/athletic:Lots of combos that we've talked about already, but think of this lineup as our BIG lineup 🕷️🏀 I like as a big lineup
Dji 6'6
Goose 6'5
Tyler 6'7
Matt 6'10
Neal 7'
our "small" lineup will be long too!Or how about this lineup for long/athletic:
Dji 6'6
Bigelow 6'7
Tyler 6'7
Noyes 6'7
Grace 6'10
Actually do think he would be a perfect fit. Reminds me a bit of Cayo, solid 248 lbs and does his damage inside.I know I shouldn't hope for it, but give me Nweke to finish things off.
you could change "Mooney" for "pretty much any coach". 8 guys will get the most minutes. still have one guy to add though that could break in. and we know nothing about the freshmen to either write them off or write them in.Regardless of who starts, I think based on our two decades of experience, Mooney will settle in on an 8-man rotation of:
Goose, Nelson, Dji, Burton, Crabtree, Bigalow, Grace, and Quinn. Randolph is 9th man, and next man up in case of injury. I'm not expecting much run for Noyes, Dread, or Walz.
would be nice. but I was told Grace didn't come back to not start.I know I shouldn't hope for it, but give me Nweke to finish things off.
7-for-8 from three against D-II North Greenville in 2019...maybe we can get them on the schedule.
kind of like how we looked so good from three against St Mary's last year?
I realize this is against a D2 team, but still impressive to me. A lot to like here. Size, form, release. Catch and shoot.
I loved that game .. was shocked when we lost to VCU by 12 the next game. I thought we were unbeatable based on how we trounced St. Mary's.kind of like how we looked so good from three against St Mary's last year?
Ok, I was wrong, 9 deep with a 10th guy who was at least getting a couple minutes per game.no they didn't.
I agree with this.It looks like we prioritized multiple years of remaining eligibility with Quinn and Bigelow, which I don't hate. Or maybe it just worked out that way. Either way, welcome aboard, Isaiah!
their 9th guy played 121 minutes. 10th played 24. 11th played 6Ok, I was wrong, 9 deep with a 10th guy who was at least getting a couple minutes per game.
NoAt least defensively, I think Bigelow is more of a 4 than Noyes. I have not seen either of them play.
I was thinking the same.Honestly, with this lineup, and a lot of our roster, we should bring back the matchup zone as an option.
Yep. If not 8, most teams go with 7. None of the final four teams used their bench much, and they all did fine. Duke played 7 guys, and the other 3 teams basically played 6 except for a few spots minutes.you could change "Mooney" for "pretty much any coach". 8 guys will get the most minutes. still have one guy to add though that could break in. and we know nothing about the freshmen to either write them off or write them in.
Quit confusing me. Isn't it 7 of 8, 3 of 4, 1 of 3, 1 of 4 for 12 of 19?I hope Isaiah can be the three-point threat we need, but I don't love that he was under 30% last year. In fact, he's a career 30% shooter from there if you take out his 13-for-18 against non-DI schools. Those four games pad his stats by three percentage points.
Yep. But, no one went 7-8. Actually, no one made more than 3. And, there is a difference in D2 and D3.kind of like how we looked so good from three against St Mary's last year?
Based on rebounding numbers and FG percentages he looks like a 4 to me. He definitely was a 4 at Wofford. A little change in shot selection and he could be very efficient as a 4 for us.
Yes, you're right.Quit confusing me. Isn't it 7 of 8, 3 of 4, 1 of 3, 1 of 4 for 12 of 19?
That where I agree, you might get open easier against D2 but you still have to make the shots, and he proved he can.Well, 7-8 is still 7-8. I like the fact he had some games where he shot and made a high amount of 3s.
