Dilly dilly! Let's hope we come out strong from the beginning and go to our new apparent bread and butter: drilling a ton of threes. If we're not making those early, we could find ourselves in a pickle by halftime. It might not be kosher for this program, but I wouldn't mind seeing us win the rebounding battle by 25 or 30, either. Anything less than a +15 line by the end would feel a little jarring to me. I'm sure this opponent would relish the chance to give us a scare if we're not careful.

Games like this getting us ready to not get jarred by Mason.

I was out for the first half and then had some trouble getting ESPN+ to work for some reason, so I only got to watch the last ~10 minutes. Looked like Mount Olive gave us some decent experience working against the press. They had some athletes, but we also had a few sloppy turnovers.

The stat sheet on our three-headed monster at the 5 was incredible...12-for-12 from the field, 28 points, 27 boards, 6 assists, and a couple of blocks.

Looked like Hunt had a pretty solid game, and Tanner hitting as well. Really hoping to see Tyne start to hit shots, but unfortunately not seeing it yet. Also, very few assists from the 1 and 2 spots...was that a product of tempo and using bigger guys to break the press, or what?

Will watch the whole game in a bit here, but probably not a ton to take away from a game at this level of competition, but great to get the real-game experience for this group of guys.

The 5 is going to be interesting this year. I think Beagle is the better passer and has a soft touch at the rim, but Walz is more physical. They both look like A10 starters to me. My prediction of Walz leading the team in double-doubles this year is so far correct.

Definitely looked rust vs the press. Not sure the infatuation with Graham's minutes so far, but he definitely needs to be off the ball. Super shaky on the dribble. Hopefully GW3 will be a player for us. B. Artis seems to be injury prone based on his history and so far with Spiders. Suddenly not so sure about our back court depth.
Yes monster stat line from the collective center position. Neskovic as expected and advertised. Tanner looks pretty good on one side of the ball but a far cry from Bigs or Dji on defense.
I believe both Beagle and Soulis can move their feet pretty well. Would like to see some line ups with either at forward.

Walz was a beast, love Beagle's game, and if Soulis stays healthy we're loaded at the 5.
will have to play 2 together some since 40 minutes isn't enough for those 3 to share.

think that may have contributed to the decision to redshirt Robinson and McGlothin. that and how good Dusan and Tanner look. there's just not substantial time available at forward with Roche and AP also there.

will have to watch GW3 more next game. he didn't look as quick as I expected. nice finish at the rim though. it's early but I think he'll be 4th guard behind B Artis if BA is ok. that knee contraption is crazy for a basketball player.

overall liked what I saw. our starting 5 should be very good, and we're deep.

biggest takeaways for me were

that Nescovic is the real deal, loved his offensive game and desire to get to the rim if offered.
the bigs are physical and will likely rotation based on who is playing well. Beagle has a nose for the ball and to score.
Tanner's 3 ball looks smooth, he and Nescovic hittting it consistently is something needed from starting 5.
Roche and AP need to hit 3s off the bench
The quote from Gipe that B. Artis is quicker than Tyne makes me thing Gipe doesn't watch basketball.
Early lineups looked pretty disjointed.

predictions:
everybody healthy scores including K Mooney.
Beagle double-double in less than 20 minutes.
17 3 pointers.
Robinson with a monster dunk.
D'Entremont in double figures.
o-fer.
13 guys did score. only D'Entremont didn't. and K Mooney didn't get in. maybe not healthy?
close with Beagle (11, 9) in 17 mins.
way off on 3's.
no idea how UNCW put up 143. that's a crazy number and 42 points more than us. Mt Olive pushed tempo, but their half court defense looked pretty good. they're quick.
