I will be there - figured I would reach out before getting tix and finalizing hotel to see if anyone else is thinking of going since most of normal folks can’t make this early mid season mid week game.

Hope to see you there Greg. My freshman year Spider roommate in '92-93 was also from Rock Hill as his mother was an administrator at Winthrop at the time.
Same here, I was one of the basketball managers from 76 - 78. I haven’t purchased my ticket yet but when I do, I will give you my seat number for sure!

Tickets purchased 7 rows back I think from Spiders bench ... still debating about staying in downtown Charlotte and ubering up or full service Marriott right near campus

On paper - should be a game we win, but same could be said for Marist.

They have played 2 tough opponents in Georgia (exhibition) and Utah State, so they won't be worried about facing little old Richmond. 3 point shooting might be the key, as it looks like they have 3 capable deep shooters in Rolf, Braswell, and Johnson and maybe even Graves. We let Marist shoot 50% on us and if we let Charlotte shoot 40% or better - it might be a tough night for us as not sure we can keep up.

Still expect the Spiders to come out and win this one.

I think this game will tell us if the Marist game was more of a brand new teams first time together and things didn't jell OR we have serious roster issues and our preseason rankings from most of the A-10 experts are valid.

I still like our roster, I think we have talent and depth. What I question after Marist is whether or not our genius 56% percenter coach can effectively manage the roster and deploy the talent in rotations that actually work. In Game 1, I didn't see any semblance of a rotation, it was just lets throw guys out there and see what happens type of approach.

I wouldn’t call this a “should” win on paper. It was our 2nd most difficult ooc game on paper I believe actually. And Vegas has us as underdogs. Had we beat Marist solidly maybe it’s a pick ‘em line. But Charlotte is mid tier AAC team. Got blown out by Utah St. so possibly they’re worse than expected idk. Ppl saying as much about us. Both teams should be highly motivated based on their last games. We can have expectations of winning & need to win coming off Marist - and I’m counting on Spiders bounce back game myself- but objectively also hard to put as a should win on paper imo. Unless Charlotte is down some guys early I don’t know about.

I am saying should win and predicting win for my own good. I picked spiders to go 11-2 in the OOC and beat Auburn. I don't like my chances if they start 1-2 and have to run the table here on out to fulfill that.

I agree with 97. Is this a talented bunch that didn't come together for their first (real) game or do we have deeper issues? I hope its the former, and that we come out with a strong W tonight. One thing I liked from Saturday was D-Lo's aggression on the Court, and his postgame comments. I feel like his leadership will have these guys hungry to bounce back.

It is very possible we are looking at a repeat of last season - a disappointing OOC and then maybe we catch fire in the A10. I say that because I think there is still an issue of guys figuring out their roles on this team. DLO is our number 1 - we all know that. But after that, it is a lot of question marks - not in terms of talent, but in what we need each guy to do.

That could be a reason I see us underperforming in the OOC, but like last year - we figure out at the end of OOC and go on a streak early in the A10. Our schedule could setup for that - we finish with W&M, VMI, and FGCU before opening A10 play.

Most of them are - but the problem we have is we really only have 1 player we can lean on while we figure that out - and that is DLO. He is the only returner in our system with great experience and put up good numbers last year. Yes - we have Tyne, Walz, Roche etc - but they were not major contributors last year so you can't rely on them, this is their first year playing a big role.

Maybe 1500 ppl here not including their band of 75 - green seats but better than the green and yellow hellhole of the Patriot Center

Yet again we're getting no offensive production from the C position, which is leading to our offense not producing good looks. Can't make our FT's when we do draw contact. Feels like this game is only close because Charlotte is missing their open 3's, and that's not going to hold much longer.

Just glad this is early season. Both teams look bad. We look really sloppy, but the good news is that Charlotte is no Marist, and that says something.

Offense is offensive. Defense is nonexistent. 3point defense is even worse if you can believe it. Can't shoot foul shots. Other than that we're playing okay.
