Kenny Atkinson to the Cavs

Chris Fleming was a Bulls assistant, just saw announced he was not returning. Maybe will re-unite with Atkinson.

We know of Dobbins and Bucknor with the Celtics.

Dan Geriot is a back of the bench assistant coach with Cavs. I would think has solid chance to remain with them under Kenny. Who knows maybe even get a bench asst promotion.

:):):):):) That is the running joke with our destinations. They don't call it "mistake by the lake" for nothing. But it was more based on the baseball guys getting to see a new stadium. If you get kidnapped, I would suggest staying in the Ohio City section.
I was at the Jake the year it opened, and the main thing I remember was how there was no shade anywhere in that whole stadium. It was about 1000 degrees when I was there. I figured Cleveland just couldn’t come up with the money for an overhang.

Chris Fleming just got hired by Portland. How unfortunate. The worst ownership in the NBA.

Dan Geriot is now with the New Orleans Pelicans. I believe as a front of bench assistant coach.

Buckner promoted to assistant coach with the Hornets following Charles Lee there. Recent article on he Dobbins & Florida Panthers executive…

Should we give JB, former spider coach any credit for the Cavs turnaround? He was 14-40 for his less than 1 season there. But did improve following his departure - maybe he laid the ground work?

Cavs are a good young team. Unfortunately - in the NBA, that will only get you so far these days. You need at least 3 big time players to make a run in the NBA and win it all. Mitchell and Garland are a good 1-2 punch from the guard position. But that 3rd piece is the question mark. They have some good players in Mobley and Allen, but just not sure that is enough to get them over the hump - especially when they have to go through Boston to get to the finals - and then the finals you face loaded west teams.

But to see them go from bottom of the league to a very good east team that should make the playoffs regularly - it is quite a turnaround.

A forward looking AD department would have pursued him when Kyrie and KD fired him or any of the years since. May have had a shot a couple years ago.
No chance. When Brooklyn let him go, it was inevitable he was gonna get another NBA head coaching job. Kenny was locked into the NBA and not going anywhere. Also, we went 24-7 the year Brooklyn let him go. And, you said we should have hired him any year since? I know you like to get on Hardt, but come on, you can't say he should have fired a coach after going 24-7 in 2020, or 2022 when we won the A-10 tourney and a dance game, or last year, when we won the A-10 regular season title. Our roster has issues this year, and we are off to a terrible start, and it seems fine to be frustrated with this year so far, but keep it real here.

OK, I was ready to go in a different direction when Boston College was talking to Mooney, so all the years run into each other. But when we went 10 years in a row with no NCAA it was "All is Well" at Richmond. Believe me, I am used to it and more just amused now. And let's say Mooniocrity retired. Hardt would probably hire his buddy Paulsen wherever he is now. So we will just hope that we can find the secret sauce this year.

Oh and 13-0. Super start for KA!

Really psyched about the Cavs 13-0 start. The Nets were my favorite team when Kenny coached them and they were fun to watch and cheer for. Same thing now with Cleveland. My new favorite team and a fun team to watch and cheer for.

23 - it's ok we definitely talked about Kenny in 21-22' on here when we were struggling & Mooney was possibly, barely, just a teensy weensy bit on the hot seat. think back to the Petition Guy! right b4 our A10 run to ncaa. And yeah I don't think any of us thought good chance Kenny A would leave NBA at that point, but u make the call regardless, maybe he has a recommendation or insight into program too, maybe just plants a seed for the future if something changes down the road with NBA. Forward thinking. And universally I think the feeling was Hardt wasn't even capable of doing that much.
