VCU's NEW COACH

Everything I have read about Wade suggests he may be a "Billy Donovan" clone, in that he is young, energetic, a strong recruiter, and knows how to teach defense.

Oldie, you forgot to mention that Wade walks on water! The way some RPI fans talk about this guy, I'm trying to figure out why the didnt send Shaka packing a few years ago and hire Wade.

The mild things posted on this board about our rival RPI hardly equate to bitterness and not that Spiders05 needs any defending but I will more than gladly vouch for his veracity..........................

Agree Gopher I am sick of RPI posts on our site and have no desire to read about our
rival in either a good or bad light. Between CAA Guy and one or two other Ram posters
we are graced too often with non essential rival BS. These folks seems to lack in tact and
intelligent conversation.

It is difficult to imagine an athlete choosing to attend the commuter college vcu in the slums of downtown Richmond without some sort of payment.

I'm aware of one of your players that allegedly assulted a female 22 days ago. Was reported to VCU's PD and has been swept under the rug thus far. Girl got tired of the inaction, so pressed charges with RPD on Wednesday.
Rumors are flying today that Terry Larrier is leaving school for family/personal reasons. Would this be it?

I don't believe Larrier was the issue personal/legal issue posted above but wow. That's gonna hurt.

Agreed - he had quite a future. We should probably note that this happened right before exams - maybe he was going to be an academic casualty. Who knows. This is a big loss for the sheep.

Is it too late for vcu to hire another coach? This clearly looks like a shipwreck. I hear that Anthony Grant may be available.

Not the name I'm hearing as to the issues 05 was referencing. I agree Larrier is a big loss. I want to beat them every chance we get, but I also want them to be strong for the conference.

Really don't see the need for vcu to be good for the betterment of the conference. There are other teams that will easily take their place, for example UR.

My VCU friend just said that Larrier may just want to go directly to the NBA. Huh? The kid is not even a good college player yet. Tough situation for me, glad to see the sheep with their panties in a wad, but also I can't stand the moving around of college players. I guess transferring has become like divorces, no one cares anymore.

If "Big Hair ED" had had sense enough to hire Mike Rhoades , he would not have half the problems he has now with WW. All I can do is just sit back and smile.

Mike was not leaving Rice to return to the slums of VCU. He was their first choice.

Ulla, you are really some piece of work. VCU is in the Fan District and is not referred to as a slum, other than by you and other narrow-mined folks. Many young professionals live in the Fan near VCU. To call it a slum is a misnomer and a bit unfair.

BB, you are correct. I am a dire hard UR fan and would not enjoy living in the fan because of my age but it in no way is a slum. Ulla is a piece of work.

Ulla, Don't forget Rice is in Houston, one of the worst cities I have ever been in. Philadelphia and Trenton are the worst I have been in. :)

RPI is imploding and there are probably more defections coming. The timing doesnt look good for Wade. Larrier took the time to get to know the new staff and then decided to leave. If boy wonder Willy Wade thinks it is bad now, wait until the season starts. I agree with Ulla, the A10 doesn't need RPI to be strong. The league will be very strong next year even if RPI is a .500 team.

You all make it seem as if our whole team is leaving. It's just the three commits who have never been here anyway, which is normal, and ONE current player. I think that's pretty good compared to what other programs go through during coaching changes. We'll still field a more talented team than UR next season.

Good ole "homer" spirit personified by HoosFan05. Eyes covered by blinders. The way it looks now, VCU will be doing well if they win half of their games next season.

It is the caliber of playing you are losing. Larrier was a Top 50 recruit, your two incoming freshman that are going elsewhere are 4 star recruits. You just don't replace that type of talent with some spring signing period additions. There is a HUGE difference between Doug Brooks, Jordan Burgess, and Jonathan Williams type talent versus Terry Larrier and Kenny Williams type talent

And, your posters came on here just a few weeks ago, and said all of the returning players were solidly in and then "whoops", there goes Larrier.
