Everything I have read about Wade suggests he may be a "Billy Donovan" clone, in that he is young, energetic, a strong recruiter, and knows how to teach defense. To me, a lot will depend on how well the current players adapt to him, and give him their full support. If there is any kind of "mutiny" situation, of players leaving just because Shaka did, then there will be a rebuilding period. However, smart players on the current team will likely see that they are getting a strong coach, and one who knows their system well. I just saw in today's RTD that he has landed a couple of players who sound pretty good too, including one who played HS ball with Khuan Fore, our redshirting freshman point guard. This guy would likely have been a target for us, if the "academic profile" had been a good fit. I liked Shaka, and hope that his successor will keep the program strong. We need a few programs in the A-10 that can be competitive, and have a national profile, and it can only help our "strength of schedule." It would also be nice, of course, if we can take down a program like theirs 2-3 times per year. I wish coach Wade the best of luck, against everyone but UR.
