Did you expect anything less from a Mooney coached team? They've blown leads for 14 years because they stop being aggressive and never make in-game adjustments. But until they actually play real defense, doubt we'll see another W.

Projection has dropped to 10-21 (4-14). Ugh. There are a couple of toss-ups in there (including tomorrow) so hopefully we can improve on that.

10-21 is worse than I was thinking as recently as Tuesday, so that’s interesting.
We don’t seem like the kind of school that fires mid season but I have to think a change might breathe some kind of life back into the program.

11-20 was the most frequent outcome prior to the St. Joe's game. Now it's 2nd-most. Makes sense.
1-6 in conference play five straight home losses. Going at St.Louis next another Loss make it 1-7.....

Realistically though, wouldn't it make good sense to fire him now and then we put out to the nation the job is open, find out if any of the current assistants should be retained and get a head start on all that? What's the point of delaying it?
This is exactly my feeling too. Just do the damn thing now. Continuing on like this is pointless and absurd.
Agree, I was resigned to we should just wait it out until the end of the season, but a good February firing would be a super job ad for a month or two. IF we can hire the right guy, I am bullish on Spider hoops. I am sick and tired of the defeatist attitude with the program and some Mooney truthers. We can do a lot better if we get a good coach.
I have it on good authority that a huge PQ level donor has used his contact at major Corp to infuse their superbowl commercial with a #FMM hologram type of insert. Unfortunately it will not he viewable by naked eye in real time, but will be seen in stop footage. It will get a ton of play in the days after the superbowl. I cannot wait. Should air in the 3rd quarter.
If you can blink approximately 20,000 x per second you can see it. Most people can't so we can watch it tomorrow.

Moving forward if Mooney's team somehow beats VCU at home this season, matters little for me. To the Mooney backers forget that talk that UR at least beat those hated rivals. Mooney has lead the Spiders to 2 NCAA bids in 14 years. VCU coaching has lead VCU to 9 NCAA bids in 13 years and on course for another coach to get that 10th bid in year 14.
Obvious difference that hurts all UR alum especially the ones living through this in the Richmond area. Having Mooney gone is hopefully the initial step moving UR basketball on same level/above those guys.

I don't want this thread to die. No matter all of the people rallying around Mooney because of the billboard, we need Mooney to go away in order to help the program. Mooney will land on his feet somewhere else. I don't want him coaching the Spiders anymore.
