visited minutemaid to see a game of the lonestar rivalry. got there early and watched batting practice. i consider all individuals who play at the highest level of their sport as world class athletes and looking around at the guys shagging flies, running sprints, hitting, one guy just was way above the rest and that is josh hamilton. at 6'4", 230lbs, he runs like a gazelle, throws everything on a line, no loop, whether hitting the cutoff man or just warming up with the ball boy between innings, amazing arm and his bat is just unreal. after whacking some pitches to the opposite field and hitting some gappers, he would then swing away freely and the ball literally flew off his bat so much higher than any other players, so much further than any others. he did not have a great night, 1-5 but did steal a base, again 6'4', 230, and score on a single from second. would have to say that he is in a league with the "natural", everything is so fluid, so effortless and he is so much better than any other player on the field. if you get a chance to go see him at a park near you do it, do it soon. he is prone to injury and he has to fight the addiction problems he has.
