Like AW3? A perpetual student athlete.Honestly if he takes two officials to us and DOESN'T end up here, that will feel like an even bigger failure than if he'd just come here once.
Is the 5 leaves new? 😁
nothing really new here. just saw it was tweeted an hour ago and Will Gipe was quick with the "like".
lol, yes this would be our first 5-maple leaf recruit of the Mooney era!Is the 5 leaves new? 😁
yeah, we don't have a lot of lines in the water. and I think we would if we didn't feel we were strong with someone.Good to hear fan1. This would be an important recruit for us, and it seems like our plan B's are dwindling to non existent at this point.
I want to remind you all, often we have had kids, a player come out of nowhere that we sign.yeah, we don't have a lot of lines in the water. and I think we would if we didn't feel we were strong with someone.
we must feel we're in a good spot with Hunger or Buchanan or some under the radar guy we don't know about ... and I've lost confidence in our chances with Buchanan after the recent Pitt full court press.
yep. I had us at 20%. still a gut punch. he would have been a great fit. now we'll be desperate next class for a 5 to play with Walz.Bah...figured they had a good shot with the Big 10, academics, and Brumbaugh already on board.
I think most schools now would look at the transfer market to fill this hole, but not Mooney's MO, so who knows. I like Walz, he seems like a good prospect, but I am not picturing much early impact. Really leaves us in the same boat of missing impact and depth on the interior, probably both next season.perfect target to shoot for, but unless we somehow surprise with Buchanan we have to go to plan B. wonder if we put offers out soon, or if we wait. the transfer market will be red hot this spring.
Hunger commits to Northwestern. And I beat SF to the punch
I doubt it. NMH guys are almost always academics first. he'll play and they most likely won't win much. but he's getting what he wanted. a terrific network for the next 40 years.Very good choice academically. Terrible f'ing choice athletically.
Transfer portal in 2 years.
Fair enough.I doubt it. NMH guys are almost always academics first. he'll play and they most likely won't win much. but he's getting what he wanted. a terrific network for the next 40 years.
I'm impatient so waiting for the transfer market would be tough for me! but there will be opportunities if we do hold off.I think most schools now would look at the transfer market to fill this hole, but not Mooney's MO, so who knows. And when did that last happen?Shocker - we lose to a Big 10 school with a Duke head coach. But as mentioned before - hopefully we were close, and if in a year or two he is looking to transfer, we should be the first call he gets from the transfer portal.
How good of a salesman is a coach, that is liked and well respected by his big man, Grant, and yet he can’t even get his brother to come here. Even his mother wanted him to play with his brother. It sucks that Mooney can never close the deal on the big recruit. I know every kid is different and has different priorities and interests, but just every once in a while it would be nice to land the kid that we know is our top priority.
the word I got was it had come down to Northwestern and us. unfortunately second place recruiting is only the first loserI hear we are still in the hunt, don't give up yet.
