Florida

They have only made 10 baskets this half,of course we have only made 5.

D is as good as I have seen in a while, every move we make there is a white shirt in front of us

What an embarrassment and coach has no idea what to do. The players have already given up. No energy no effort and no aggressiveness.

Really disappointed. Weaknesses exposed Terry looks overmatched can't shoot can't play D. Wow a disaster to end the half. Never thought I'd see a blowout like this. Hopefully we learn from this so much from the confidence of beating Cal

Florida is not scary good. They will finish middle of the sec and that's not a basketball powerhouse conference either. I hope the coaches lay into them at half time but since all of them just sit on the bench the whole game I doubt it.

We have to play this second half not worrying about winning or losing, but getting our mojo back. Florida is a tough team and by all means this isn't a "must win" (it would be a really, really nice win though) but at this point, we have to work on getting some confidence for N. Iowa, which will be an important win to add to our resume. We'll see.

when the announcers call out your team out for "standing around" you know the effort, energy is not there. This game is over at halftime.

Quick look at some key HT stats.

FLA 9-1 off. rebound advantage leading of course to 13-0 2nd chance points. Surprisingly UR more FTAs but only 4-12 while Gators are 8-9.

FLA is good but Spider D must and hopefully will improve. Tough shooting night for UR and this game shows where TA can't be the man every night.

TJ is still in Las Vegas, we are not moving our feet on defense, we are now scared of going inside and TJ, DT and Trey are combined 1-8 from FT line. We are simply intimidated and our toughness from Las Vegas is still there.

I don't get Mooney's new approach to in game coaching, which is to basically just sit on the bench and observe the game.

Awful half. Reminiscent of the JMU game where we stood around and watched JMU hit the glass. We were not ready to play. Very disapointing because the effort was not there.

New? I've been watching this team for 5 years every game and he never changes anything, especially Defense no matter how much we are getting schooled.

So, who are we? The team that played JMU and Florida or WVA and Cal?

Since we are taking this year off from playing defense why do we need to play DT and TD? Marshall doesn't play any defense but at least he can score from us, or is a threat to score. I agree with others, why not play PF more?

Btw what did St Joe's do?[/QUOT

You are right. Play the big guy now. He may be terrible now but with experience may get better. Taylor has been on a downward slide for three years but he is not only still playing, he is still starting. Davis a total non factor on offense and is really not that great on defense. How many threes will Florida have to make from the corner before the "coach" makes an adjustment???
You will seldom beat a fairly good team with two out of five guys a total non factor on offense. It puts too much pressure on the other three and allows the defense to focus on fewer guys.
This is the out of conference part of the schedule. Get Davis and Taylor out of there and play the young guys to see if maybe they will be able to help later in the season when it matters.
If you are going to play a match up zone, please teach these guys how to match up.

Everyone eventually is going to know that Deion and Trey can't score. Having them on the floor at the same time is like playing 5 against 3. Just foul them and you'll get the ball back, or just guard the other 3 players on the court.

Exactly. Can't believe they are even guarded on the perimeter

We have great moments, and then we have moments like this. Which team is going to show up on Saturday? I suspect the same one that played against Cal.
