2021–22 NET Rankings

Why don’t you find another team to follow.
Why don’t you expand your horizons, depth, and substance. Plenty of us see reality for what it is and are not afraid to confront and address it. Many of us have supported this team probably longer than you and have had a taste of what real winning and accomplishment tastes like. Unfortunately the Mooney experiment has failed. If you continue to be a pom pom fan, I’m more than happy for you.

One of many examples the NET is a very inconsistent and unreliable system for determining a teams success... Marquette 16-7 is ranked 4 spots higher than Providence 19-2, and they play in the same league and are 1-1 vs each other.

We moved up two spots the other day without playing, but beating the 102 team at home by 10 was only good enough to move us up one spot to 85. 🙄

KenPom moved us up 6 spots to 80, while Torvik only moved us one to 98.

Not playing again proves more beneficial than winning, as we moved up two to 83. VCU falls six to 77 after barely beating Duquesne.

I'm telling you, we just need to cancel the rest of the season and watch that NET skyrocket like it's done a couple times on off-days already! We might sneak into the at-large convo at 16-8 with a NET in the low 50s!

NET - not a good rating system. As 8 legs indicated it rewards blowouts too much. Hokies last nite pummeled “powerful” Pitt at home and gained 8 spots 51-43. Spides beat a better team than Pitt & gains nothing
with the NET it's like if you don't beat them by double digits they don't even care. You could have just lost by a basket instead of winning by a basket and it would be the same result.

How many quad edge games do we have?
Miss ST 50 Neutral
Toledo 74 Home
VCU 76 Home
Maryland 100 Neutral

I still say it looks at your +/- vs the spread and total points scored and allowed for the season

Has there been a time in recent history where a conference champion did not get invited to the dance.

I feel we got screwed in 2020, but man ... what seed do you think Dayton would have gotten?
Dayton would have been a 1 seed, unless they lost early in the A-10 tourney and given that they were 18-0, that was probably pretty doubtful.

I know we had a good chance this year but I think of the team Dayton had and they had a legit Final 4, National Championship caliber squad. That is a once in a lifetime team.

Dayton fans will likely be bitter about that for many many years. Best team they ever had and a legit NC contender.
