Maybe so, but I don't think we were on his short list, however...I will say given his list I am happy with this choice.

Thanks...I also spotted where Winston ended up.

Ya, I spotted the Jones list a day or two ago.
And nope, I'm not on the premium board.
Did anything come of this?
Here are the 13 scholarships for next season (each team gets 13)Am I correct in counting (without any suspected transfers) that we only have 1 scholarship for 2018?
yes.Honest question, nothing against the man, but should Friendshuh have a schollie next year?
I think if you went by the "deserves" rationale, it's hard to say. There are probably 2-3 guys each year who play so little as to be "undeserving" of a scholarship, but you're expecting them to grow and develop, etc., so they can ultimately contribute in future years. I doubt that UR looks seriously at it this way though, I expect they look individually at guys and are honest with them about their chances of playing. Some guys might be fine sticking around on the possibility, others will want to try to play elsewhere. I honestly don't know that we've not renewed or forced out someone though. Doesn't strike me as our style, although maybe this is happening and I just don't realize it.My question was more "deserves". Let's say he doesn't play hardly at all this year. he might have a conversation with coach that centers around future plans/playing time being very small. I know that's happened before, hence the transfers of Smithen, Singleton, etc over the past few years.
I don't think it's uncommon for big guys (6'10"+) to be prone to injury, the body mechanics at that height are just different. Obviously Paul has had some kind of injury issues, enough so to redshirt him a year (probably would have been appropriate to do regardless) and then play him relatively little last year. I think if he's not playing this year when we so desperately need depth in the frontcourt, you have to think he's injured again, or injured enough to think his minutes in game will be poor.Maybe deserves is the wrong word, but I can't remember a guy like Friendshuh who has been so injury plagued in every year he's been here so far. I can't see him providing meaningful minutes as the new talent has come in every year.
FYI, TJ Ford played for Texas and in the NBA. I think you mean AJ...+1 iSpider! Agree completely that the Ulla and SF have been major contributors to updates on our recruits in the past, including some fantastic links to videos that have been posted here. Am waitign with baited breath to see some updates that might suggest that several of our 2017 signees will have outstanding senior seasons. Have my fingers crossed, in particular, that TJ Ford, our 6-8 Center recruit, will have a monster/break-out senior season. The coaching staff likely feels the same way...
Haha, Ford or Chevy?FYI, TJ Ford played for Texas and in the NBA. I think you mean AJ...
