We admit him as planned and we have 4 NCAA appearances under Mooney and Mooney is one of the hottest coaches in America. Do you hear Mooney complaining about our admission standards?

We tend to forget all of the information when we blast our coach year in and year out. I read stories about Avila while he was averaging 19 pts and 8 reb in the Pac 12. Sounded like a pretty good kid.

In Mooney I trust. Lead us onward Coach!

Thanks for the humor, although I must admit that there is a point to your madness. Even a mediocre Coach is only 1 exceptional player away from back-to-back NCAA appearances. The measuring stick for most is based upon whether or not a Coach takes their teams to the NCAA repetitively.

Your theory will be tested over the course of the next few years. If the incoming recruits are indeed as good as we all hope then return NCAA trips could be just around the corner.

Fan2, of course I agree. We recruit from a different pool than others in our conference save for a few members. But, you know what, I would not have it any other way. I do think that we are doing better getting high level talent perhaps due to our current assistant coaches and targeting in-state players who are more familiar the value of a UR education. OSC
