As soon as that gets back to normal we should be ok. That is biggest key imo. They've both missed some timely ones too.

Thing is I still feel confident when they let em go. Gilly actually surprises me more than Francis, b/c Francis runs more hot/cold. Gilly has lot on his plate, and he's doing most everything else at elite level, but I'd actually ask that he try to step up his scoring and looking for his shot including the 3 ball.

Easy to "remember" Gilly making clutch shots, but he is now deferring to Francis more often than not.

when you're shooting 24% from 3, you're not going to be as confident as in the past. he's searching for it. he shot an air ball yesterday. even his midrange jumpers aren't automatic any more.

he's too good a proven shooter for this to last though.

What are you saying is normal? The looks they got last year were so much better and cleaner than what I've seen this year, and both were at 36% last year. Not having Nick on the floor is a detriment to both of these guys in terms of 3PT%, so someone has to be a 3rd option and shoot at least a 35%ish clip from 3. If not, BF and JG may not replicate last year's percentages. It's a concern

well Burton is at 40%

I don’t discount Nick’s loss it plays a role. U r right there.

Yes normal would be last year numbers. Personally I think Gilyard has gotten a lot of clean looks. Francis takes lot of harder ones but I think that’s normal for him. At this point he’d be better waiting for the better looks that can still come out of running the O. So little more patience is part of too imo.

certainly possible they don’t replicate those numbers. Just think it will be important in how much success we have. My feeling is ultimately they’ll improve & end up very close to them. Hope so or yeah not a good sign.

I think Goose getting more time would help. Our ball movement is better w him in game & when he drives he kicks it well. I wish Mooney would give him more freedom to set others up.

I think Francis and Gilyard have been getting fine looks. no different than last year. just not hitting.

I like Goose to but we need more perimeter threats, not less. we'll see how Crabtree looks with hopefully more minutes.
