Havent followed the team much the season - early season losses were discouraging. Mooney’s teams have never rebounded but wow that was atrocious the last 8 minutes of the game.
Not much to follow except end of game collapses and losses.
I'd say get rid of Grace's scholarship let Noah Yates go and go get some MEN that can rebound and energize.
Ill take the fall for this one. We were up 8 when I put the game on.... I jinxed it.
Another game we should have won. No rebounding at all tonight. Glad we lost tonight and avoid the matchup with Dayton
No I’m right there with u Fiji. But honestly I think most of us expected this game to play out exactly the way it did. I’d love for this program to get some positivity & energy back but that’s on Hardt now.
Oh the funny thing... a facebook memory that popped up on my feed today was a post I had made following our A10 tourney win. Such a long time ago.

Someone please get the tape of the timeout at 14 seconds. What little they showed of the UR huddle was absolutely pathetic. Mooney had the blank look, "deer in the headlights." He wasn't speaking, and his eyes darted around. It was obvious that he had absolutely NO CLUE on how to proceed. Mooney then leaned over to Asst. Coach and asked him some version of what do we do (not an exact quote, I couldn't actually hear the conversation). Then the camera shot went away.
This brief huddle catastrophe should be exhibit # 1 for termination. Mooney was mentally locked up and couldn't muster up what to do next. This is an example (on tape) of why his teams can't win close games. Fire this losing coach now!

The play was the same end of game play that Mooney always uses. He puts the ball in the hands of his small guard and expects that guard to create the winner. It doesn't work over and over again.
Think back on Mooney's history. He uses the same strategy EVERY time. It rarely works. Kevin Anderson was the only one of the small guards who made it work more often than not.
Unfortunately, plays after timeouts typically result in turnovers and bad shots. The usual inability of CM and his coaches to adjust with plays that would work against that trap D, along with no rebounding and atrocious D, were the standard operation for a Spider loss. If we know it's coming and that our players will wilt against pressure down the stretch, what do we expect other teams to do? Sad state of affairs . . . so moving on to baseball that's winning some games and LAX is in the hunt to repeat as SOCON champion!

At times KA didn't even make it happen but there were certainly some daggers late in games that demoralized opponents. Key difference was that they were physically & mentally tough and would attack the basket.
We need a new mentality where this is no longer accepted. Good grief, how many other D1 teams have been outrebounded by 20+ multiple times this year? Pitiful.
Shame. Used properly for 28-32 minutes he's a force at the end. Playing 35 minutes he's got nothing left when the game's on the line. Even I can see this and I never coached a game. What is the Moon Man thinking. You can't expect your best player to play when he's totally gassed. He deserves better than this.

crowd was sparse, but I do think a couple of the shots showed yellow clad fans cheering for the Spiders -- anybody else see that?
They want Mooney back, everyone but ‘real’ Richmond fans want Mooney back.
I root for Wofford . against zone they have good offense too. Point guard never gets too close to play er at foul line but we do this and makes easy for top of zone for 1 player to guard 2 offense players.
I also think it is time to help trainer to focus on quickness. He did not make Sherod quicker and this was test for me. Woj needs this training too. I hope his family hires trainer for him because our bench press bullshit training does nothing and I always like the shooter. Also KEEP THE FIGHT ANDRE! talk to Coach and say get your passport buddy we got to hunt in mysterious place called Europe.
Fan1, this was like two teams with no coach. And the God awful announcers tried to pump them up with no supporting evidence.

Could have drawn up the script & last 5 minutes play by play before tip-off even occurred.
