Or can we get some cash back from this guy. When we talk embarrassment, this guy started the train. I don't care if Webspinner's revisionist history is 100 % correct, JM is the big boy in the room, he should have stuck to the 5 year plan. Spinner can spout about this more for the next 20 years, but JM was the guy in charge. Last time Jabba was on with Black and Wallace, this subject was the only one that really got Hardt a little excited. He squarely pointed that this was not normal and to go ask JM about this atrocity.

And then they brought Miller on to essentially through Buck under the bus on the way out of town. Disgusting. Miller was well thought of when he left, but I bet the poll numbers would not be so good today. My favorite AD right now is Chuck Boone.

I don't know about everything that you posed there but I was also disgusted by the hatchet job on Buck when he left.

I also find it highly ironic that JM is now with a coaching search firm. It would be really hard for me to fathom anyone wanting to pay him money for his advice on coaching searches at this stage of the game.

Yes, someone did a little research on the search firms at one point in time. The were getting big bucks for pretty shoddy suggestions. Basically, you could take the lists on this board and have some debate and probably come away with a much better chance at a good hire. And save yourself $250,000. JM being on a search firm just reinforces my feeling on search firms.

Had he lived and not died of a heart attack, I think Clyde Biggers would've been a good AD.

Between turning an NCAA championship caliber football program over to Latrell Scott (a guy with no head coaching experience and a substance abuse problem) and the Mooney 10 year contract, Jim Miller should have his hands no where near anything our athletic department does.

There was no hatchet job. Far from it. Stop with the conspiracy theories.

If this program would stop with the stupid waste of 1.3 mil/year, and hire a new coach and win some games the theories would subside. How do you know there was nothing devious going on here? You sound quite confident.

If it was OK for Jim Miller to go on the radio and tell everyone that Buckingham had failed drug tests, why was it not just put in the school release about Buck leaving?

He did not mention that at all. There was no "hatchet job", no matter how hard you look for it. He did mention reasons why a guy could be suspended and dismissed, and that obviously was one of them. Sounds like you know something others might not. Please share.

Frankly, I have no idea if the Audio Vault goes back 9 months and would not waste my time looking for it if it does.

Jim's comments were discussed pretty extensively back then so I'm not spending any more time litigating the matter now.

Just another example of Jim trying to cover his ass for this albatross of a contract he put around UR's neck.

Yes. Common theme here among Mooney loyalists is that they think the rest of us are complete morons.

Not true. I just don't like the lies and conspiracy theories. Miller never said Buck failed drug tests, so your post was a lie.

He gave "one example" of why it might happen, like EL said. Semantics.

Trump "might have" paid off Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal to be quiet about their sex. I guess it could been some other business dealing with a pornstar or Playmate, right?

Similar analogy for you as you go complain about me to the Moderators.

I was a Spider athlete during the Chuck Boone era, and he was a heck of a good guy, and an outstanding AD who really understood the athletes and most importantly, he knew how to get things done. Like hiring Tarrant.

I also hold Miller responsible for the Scott hiring debacle, the CM contract, and the men's track and soccer disaster. Balances out most of the positives people here want to give him credit for.

He was asked a question and answered it. He also gave examples of breaking team rules, and made it very clear he did not know for sure exactly what happened with Buck when mentioning athletic department rules. What should he have said when asked to differentiate between team rules and athletic department policy? He mentioned by far the most common broken athletic department rule as an example. By far. Did you want him to mention worse things than drugs? Just because it is almost obvious to anyone what happened, don't blame Miller for something he did not do.

I do not recall it being "obvious" prior to that interview and i still do not think it is "obvious" how that entire deal played out. Far from it.

Well, that is your fault for not seeing the obvious, or for not believing the obvious, and looking for something that is not there. As I said earlier, just stop with the conspiracy theories.

For the uniformed like me, spell it out. What happened with Buckingham? Please include the tweet from the @spidembb account about him in the chronology.

Help me here.

Who cares? Not me! Deal with it just like I deal with your biased fantasy land nonsense posts.

Sounds like you do not deal with me well at all because you seem to get awfully upset and continue to reply while saying you don't care. As far as lies are concerned, sorry, I don't like them. Opinions are one thing, but lies are not cool, especially when lying about what a person said or did.

Sure. He was suspended for a game mid season (following a 5 game winning streak...great timing, Buck). Then, after the season he was dismissed from the team for breaking athletic department rules. If you cannot figure out the rest, I can't help you. You are "uninformed" only because you choose to be.

Not upset at all, I just enjoy replying to your nonsense! Keep up the good work!

At least Ulla has the good sense to not comment on every anti-Mooney post. Not so with vt.

Every one? Really? 6 of the 13 most recent threads have Mooney in the thread title. I have posted on one of those.

See, this is why I was so "appreciative" of Jim Miller spelling out "the rest" for us.

The part about your post that I find most intriguing is the personal attack at Buck right in the middle.

Standard "blame shifting"..."it's not Mooney... Its the character of the roster he recruited". "Its not Mooney ... Its admissions". "Its not Mooney, its the adversarial goons that sit in the rafters."

Standard Operating procedure for Mooney, everyone he employs ... And everyone that is responsible for this mess, which includes JM...and DW for the mindless year eaten$ion while he was interim.

still contend that if JM had lost CM to a big school and did not try and retain him, he would have been roasted on this board, probably worse. the only revisionist history on here is from those who refuse to admit it. we are always whining on here because we lose our coaches and yet JM retains one in the middle of him being a hot property and fans were glad, now we hate him for doing it.........DUH. cannot have it both ways guys, he did the right thing, it just did not play out as we all, ALL, thought it would.

Sorry, pro Mooney or anti Mooney has nothing to do with a guy breaking rules and letting his team down. I can't blame any coach for that.
