Mooney's uncharacteristic time out after Iowa 11-0 run in first half was big. Crucial I would say. Went from up 6 to down 5 in an instant. They were getting ready to establish their game, but Spiders snuffed it out. Loved the team's grit, determination, and heady play to make this happen.
According to Twitter the refs were incredibly one-sided…against Iowa. You can’t make this up
They must have been listening to the announcer, Brendan Haywood. Yes they missed a call, but damn he apparently didn't see Burton get hacked or other missed calls. He was reaching for calls and the way he was talking at one point thinking he had Iowa in his bracket.

Yes, I knew Iowa was not a super physical team, but was expecting that if they navigated the Big10 so well they would be tougher. Burton, Cayo, Grace and Co. took it to them.
Yeah I’ve seen that, that’s insane…they won’t to completely ignore that bs call of traveling on TB when dude has him in a arm bar…which could have been a real game changer as well

I noticed that. Refs definitely missed the foul by Grace late in game on 3 point shooter, but they called tick tock fouls on us all game. We got mugged a few times with no fouls called.
Maybe in the future we should drop teams like Hofstra and Wofford. Replace them with Big10 schools for some early OOC victories.
How about the foul on Burton at the end where the guy dragged him by the arm and Burton was called for traveling. Bad calls both ways and same ball used by both teams. Richmond won and Iowa lost.
It might have been the first time in history an underdog got the benefit of a bad call against a P5/Big 10 team in the NCAA tournament.

They were the most arrogent fans u could imagine, we pointed out all of the possible senarios that might play out, their hortible history in the dance, how UR has beaten many giants in the dance. Nothing. On their board there was maybe 10 mentions about UR. We were a cupcake to them. Damn… they will never forget these Spiders!!!
Not undervalueing this victory in any way but the B10 is the most over rated conference every year. Ive said it for years. We should play as many B10 teams as we can because the they all end up w good NET’s because the system sucks
That guy is an asshole. Trying like crazy to say the refs blew calls. The 3 was a bad call but he harped on “ that should be an and 1” after the steal an bucket, when it was clearly shown absolutely no contact was made. Homers never make good announcers. Is he a Big10 guy?
That was the games biggest moment. Im not going to give Cm any props for calling TO there because any coach would have done it… but our response was epic. An 11-0 run to counter. I will give major props props to CM for our response.
loved the way TB goated their guard into fouling in -- ball being set TB puts hand lightly on him he pushed it off TB realized it bothered him kept right at it, happened several times refs step in sure told them to calm it down but TB kept getting in his head by touching or nearly touching, soon as play starts TB slides down and draws the charge -- expression on their guards face was priceless
After all these years, is Mooney evolving? Playing physical, smart substitutions, using time outs properly.....I love it!

I don't think it should be ignored that we absolutely dominated the mascot dance off as well.
