Up until about 20 years ago this was a battle between the the premier Baptist university in Va and NC. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. Neither UR or WFU are Baptist institutions.I believe Robins, Sr. made a donation to Wake in perpetuity as long as the series continues...
Check the R's on page 3, 22 years after his death

LMAOI've said it before and I'll say it again. vcu is without a doubt a top 10 national program. By far the best team in the state and they have a national brand like Kentucky or UNC. Y'all will probably win like 15 national titles in a row. Also the Siegel center is right up there with Allen field house as the toughest place to play. It's probably tougher than Allen with all that fake crowd noise.
I know how carried away you can get so I would admonish you that regardless of the circumstances, we maintain the Baptist tradition of no dancing in the aisles at the RC by either you or et uxor tua. Restraint remains a high priority.I'll continue to watch. Baptist or not.
i, careful lest you provide succor to FRS's other uxorious leanings.I know how carried away you can get so I would admonish you that regardless of the circumstances, we maintain the Baptist tradition of no dancing in the aisles at the RC by either you or et uxor tua. I know!! It was funny!!This is all with sarcasm, I hope you know that.
The sad thing is that their fans actually believe exactly what I just said.I know!! It was funny!!
Or like the real ones...Perhaps we should have some Westhampton Beauties dress like the ballgirls in the movie Semi Pro!
That feels like a "meh" game.Back to the topic of the thread...
UD at UR confirmed for 11/10.

Except our first chance to see all the new guys in live action...That feels like a "meh" game.

adding Delaware game is worth a post?
It'll give our young guys some experience but killer to our RPI
First they screw us out of a $350k payday in football, then they drag down our basketball RPI for years to make up for it?Tidbit from a football article by JOC...maybe this was known, but I didn't remember it: the BC basketball game is the start of a multi-year deal that's part of the settlement from them breaking the football deal.

Wunnerful.First they screw us out of a $350k payday in football, then they drag down our basketball RPI for years to make up for it?
Well, you do have to worry about losing these 200+ RPI games. You really only need 1 or 2 losses to that group to tank your at large chances.we worry way too much about possible RPI drags. it's an ACC game. I'll enjoy watching. let's just beat them. if we win enough, our bid will take care of itself.
absolutely. and you never know. they went 2-17 in the ACC and had a not-that-awful 219 RPI (considering). 2 more measly wins gets them to 4-15 like NC St ... who finished with a 141 RPI. that high ACC SOS helps. That said, I'd rather play BC than Oral Roberts...
The first thing that would help would be for BC not to lose to Hartford & Nicholls St. Second would be winning 2 away ACC games.absolutely. and you never know. they went 2-17 in the ACC and had a not-that-awful 219 RPI (considering). 2 more measly wins gets them to 4-15 like NC St ... who finished with a 141 RPI. that high ACC SOS helps.
I'm not arguing that it's not the worst of the ACC games. it is. but I don't hate it as much as some here do."Hey, we get to play an ACC school (but it's BC)" is kinda like saying "Hey, I am dating an 11-time Emmy Award-winner (but it's Roseanne Barr)."
The thing with BC is that even though they've been bad for however many years, they have a higher ceiling. They are 2-3 more good wins in the ACC of skyrocketing their RPI up. A team like oral roberts really has no ceiling given their schedule and losing to them will always be far worse. BC is a good game because we can get lucky with them over performing in the best conference, and it can make a win against them look a lot better
The way the RPI works it doesn't matter who your wins are against. If they had won against Nicholls St. (253), Hartford (327) and Fairfield (180) in the OOC last year they would have had the same RPI as if they beat UNC (5), UVA (18) and Louisville (7). We just need them to not lose to those 200+ and 300+ teams in the OOC, the SOS boost from playing in the ACC should keep their RPI top 200 if they can beat the cupcakes.
