Also, possible that VCU takes it right at him to either get him in foul trouble early, or allow him to play his matador defense.Feed him and let him deal.

This is going in John Hardt's next AD e-mail on the state of the athletic program.I went back to take a look at the seasons Davidson and UR have had since Davidson joined the A-10 with a focus on conference finish. Interesting in that Davidson's average placement has been 4.7 and UR 5.5 during that time. Median place is identical at 4.5. Standard deviation is nearly identical. 5th place or below, each have 3 seasons. Davidson does have one regular season conference championship and two NCAA appearances during that team, but in terms of conference finishes, there isn't really a material difference between the two programs over the last six seasons.
Actually, they have at 4 guys who can guard him. All over 6'8".

The summary of our season will read something like this. The UR Men's basketball program enjoyed an outstanding season, beating two SEC programs Kentucky and Vanderbilt, rising as a high in 19th in the AP rankings, and earned an NIT birth*. Jacob Gilyard also enjoyed personal success capturing the NCAA all time steals record**
* UR was unable to participate in the NIT due to NCAA COVID restrictions
**extrapolated out that steal record would have been broken if not due to multiple COVID shutdowns.
No one is capable of guarding the NBA's next greatest shooter of all time. But if we just let him score his 50 points and shut down everyone else, we win by 15.Need some height guarding Hyland...bring on the Goose!
Please just do what Dayton did: double Bones and make the other Rams beat you.Expecting a big game from Grant tonight. Agree with letting Bones try to beat us from outside. He's not going to hit 20 shots. Spiders 78 - Rams 70
True, unlike Hofstra that lost at JMU, you beat JMU by 1 at home...UR is not better than VCU. Heck, just one example why, VCU competed with WVU, while UR looked like a JV team. Also, we didn't lose at home to a Hofstra team that got swept by JMU.
But led by 20 most of the game and slacked off. It happens. And at least they lead the CAA now.True, unlike Hofstra that lost at JMU, you beat JMU by 1 at home...
We didn't look like a JV team against WVU. That's the point. Y'all didn't belong on the same court. Should've forfeited at halftime.“We lost too but we lost by less than you so we’re the best!” Well that’s a weak argument.
So cute seeing you try to impress us. Penn State wasn’t very impressed though. Same goes for Rhode Island.
Good thing the refs bailed you guys out against James Madison or I’d really have something else to say
Firing Mooney. Good luck! 😉😀What will it take to get you to stop trolling our boards? Serious question.
Us winning tonight. Like most trolls, get in early to talk a ton of trash, win and come back and talk more. Lose no big deal, just stop posting and go back to fleshlighting about Bones all night. What will it take to get you to stop trolling our boards? Serious question.
This game is a must-win in my opinion.
You got your asses handed to you at home by Rhode Island and we beat them easily at home.We didn't look like a JV team against WVU. That's the point. Y'all didn't belong on the same court. Should've forfeited at halftime.
Good on Pav for losing some weight and showing up to support the spidersI see this Spider fan is ready to go!!!!
Are you going to make a negative prediction? Every little bit helps.Well then I guess you're screwed tonight too, unless you think we couldn't care less about this one.
I agree with this take. We'll need good minutes from Gustavson, Grace, and Sal if we want to win this oneMy concern is fatigue. You know VCU will try to speed the game up and pressure us. In a normal circumstance - I like our guards to handle it. But coming off a 2 week pause with limited practice and conditioning, and then playing a glorified scrimmage on Sunday - I worry the guys will lose some legs in the 2nd half.
I think UR keep it close or even has the lead early on, but after halftime I am worried we might wear down in terms of missing shots, some bad turnovers, fouls, etc.
If God has a say in it, the Spiders will prevail 😉
The dude has an identity problem.Just curious how a RAM apologizer became a Lion? For some strange reason (logic) the ODU logo looks more like a Lion........
