Like the more TALENTED Spiders to show their upside tonight. Would feel more confident if they had a different coach. I think of Mooney as the football QB who can't win the game but possibly could lose it for the team.
I know UR isn't an uptempo team but would slow down the pace on offense as much as possible. It's all about UR not wearing down and best way to do that is be as efficient on offense as possible while not getting into a running game with them no matter what.
I know Mooney isn't an out-of-box coach but love to see him start in a box-and-one with best defender Burton on Hyland. Yes, maybe little practice time available with it but Mooney has had plenty of time to educate his smart players. Don't let their main guy beat you, maybe it disrupts their whole offensive game plan?
Of course if UR's defense was on par to last's year team, I wouldn't mention the above. VCU has had a couple frosh step up big for them this season but saw where they had no returning players who averaged 10+ points a game while Mooney's team returned 4 players in double figures. VCU lost A LOT and haven't seen them but once but surmising kudos to coach Rhodes for a job well done.
I believe the Spiders offense is greater than VCU's defense. I really think both Sal and Gust need more minutes than previous games to have the best five fresh at the end. It's put up time for this experienced group and hope their coach doesn't do something to hurt their chances. They are the better team.

Defense has been great. We have this the rest of the year we win a lot of games.
VCU as ever is not a great half court team. If we keep them from transition our defense should generally be ok. They don’t use a lot of dribble drive offense which is what kills us. But we don’t look too good on the offensive end either
What the absolute **** Burton was trampled, no foul, and these idiots hit a three. Wow
A blessing in disguise? Cuts down on half baked, ill advised shots with no loss to team defensive abilities. Goose is better on Bones.
Grants already gassed and honestly grace looks like the better defender. Blake running offense solo. Coincided with taking the only player in a good rhythm out of the game.
Ignorant post at its finest. There are no "A10 refs". No conference has their own refs. The refs cover any conference game any given night.
A function of us simply being softer then them. That was a very physical sequence and we try touch shots and finger rolls.
We should have tried the billboard thing again.
