Transfer season

Speaking of Nebraska and transfers Jeriah Horne to Tulsa...
Yep. Saw that the other day. Would have been a great get for the Spiders and Jacob especially had we had another schollie available.

Am I the only one who finds it mildly amusing that the best promotional snapshot JOC can pull of Hans is him getting stripped by JeQuan Lewis? I mean, come on man. It only took me 2 minutes to find a dozen better pictures.

Probably a rights thing. The T-D probably owned that photo that JOC posted, and didn't have to fork out any money (however much it might have been) for someone else's photo. I'm sure that their budgets are stretched thin with shrinking readership and a digital model that is laughable.

Maybe, that's on his twitter account, I'm not sure how copyrights and licensure is observed for something no one is paying for.

I don't really get the narrative where Pastner is a "great young coach". He was able to get great recruits at Memphis and never really win as big as the stars would indicate. I don't see him as a great young coach but rather a good recruiter when he has a built in advantage and a mediocre coach.

Look what Pastner was able to do at GT in one season with mostly players who were not his recruits. Many of the basketball "experts" suggested that GT would lose every ACC game this season. That Pastner was 2017 ACC COY over Roy Williams, Coach K, and Tony Bennett is a pretty strong narrative in my book. Runner up in the NIT was a also a surprisingly good result for a team with a new coach, one returning starter, playing in the ACC and beating national champion UNC in their first ACC game. It is a narrative I most certainly get.

certainly a better recruiter than X's and O's coach. but with who that school plays in league, it's really important to be a strong recruiter. he was a good hire there.

2017 ACC Coach of the Year and NIT runner up in his first year suggests he is a good X's and O's guy, was a good hire and is a great young coach, even without a bunch of his own recruits. GT definitely a program on an upward trajectory.

I would think we would be hearing from Hans within the next few days if he is confident about saying "Yes." He still has a day or two to cancel his next visit and decide to be a Spider. I won't feel quite as good about things if we don't get word before Friday evening... Wednesday or Thursday could be our best bets for a positive decision.

Wow! Everyone posts the same thing on their board. "This is premium content. Please subscribe to view."

What does it say?

Google says this comment is on that board...
"Nebraska hosted Princeton graduate transfer power forward Hans Brase on an official visit from Sunday-Tuesday. I was told the visit went very well,..."

Was the visit this past weekend? If so the longer without news may be better for us.

husker online hans brase

Yes, it was this past weekend. He still may visit Georgia Tech. Moreover, Hans must have been at Nebraska at the same time as the center they signed from Winthrop.

why would he cancel his next visit? I don't think he's under the gun to commit. he should see his options and choose what's best for him. hopefully it's UR.

Hey, I'm just trying to think of a reason he would visit...
Mite, 'preciate it. Making me a little nervous. Clemson is a pretty nice college town, remodeled arena, southern girls, et c.

His visit to UNC was canceled and they're no longer interested in him.

Seems like we should be interested as a backup option, if Option A falls through. If UNC was willing to meet with him, I think he's good enough for us. Plus I'm tired of losing grad transfers to GW every year.
