When some manage to trickle out, their stories will be devastating to the Administration. The Administration that abandoned them because of a politically driven, precipitous, reckless withdrawal "strategy" made by our President against the recommendations of all of his military and national security advisors.

State and Psaki say a 100 or so remain in country. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin testified, under oath, before Congress last week that "fewer than 4,000". Not mutually exclusive, but pretty obvious it is a lot more than a 100.

This Country historically does not willingly abandon our citizens. This Administration has set a new standard, a most troubling precedent. A stain they will have to live with and defend.

Day 36...At least 40 American Children, from one school district in California, have been abandoned in Afghanistan.

Just because you’re hearing less about Americans still trapped in Afghanistan, jaw-dropping U.S. government incompetence and unresponsiveness, and the relentless brutality of the Taliban, doesn’t mean it still isn’t happening.

The Sacramento Bee revealed that even more American children are still trapped in Afghanistan than was originally believed:

San Juan Unified School District officials last week said 41 students were trapped in Afghanistan — a sharp increase from the two-dozen-or-so the district had previously identified. Of the 41 kids, three were evacuated over the weekend from the war-torn country but remain overseas, district officials said.
Sacramento City Unified officials last week said eight students are stranded in Afghanistan. Initially, they’d identified just one family who The Sacramento Bee interviewed. Attendance records as the school year has progressed showed more students were missing, and staff traced their whereabouts to the country.
Principal Nate McGill of Ethel I. Baker Elementary school has been involved in getting the students out. He texts with family members and has been coordinating staff members who are trying to cobble together a plan.

"The State Department plans to resume regular evacuation flights from Afghanistan before the end of the year to help U.S. citizens, residents and some visa applicants leave the country, a senior State Department official said." Maybe our people can get a return flight, after we drop off pallets of cash to help our enemies.

We need less emphasis on building an entitlement society and more emphasis on national defense, which is the primary purpose of the federal government.
