if you find yourself down and troubled after Villanova, try watching a few minutes of the Spiders blowing up the biggest day in the history of James Madison University...

guaranteed to make you feel better...they couldn't be beaten...Lee Corso tried to give them the mojo...the Spiders did the unthinkable...

you better believe their real fans know what's coming to Turkey town on Saturday...

all you could hear after the game was the echo of transfer trucks on I-81 bouncing off the Aluminum Bowl!...it was Spiders shock and awe....

anything can happen in this rivalry...enjoy the memory....

Go Spiders!

Thanks for posting. I watched that one on TV from home - an incredible memory. What struck me about the video here is how much better our defensive backs played. Of course, we were watching highlights ...

Thanks for posting.

Very few college athletes get to have a game like Jacobi Green did that day. That's a memory of a lifetime.

I had forgotten about the surprise onside kick. When both teams are scoring at will, that's a great call.

JMU's defense is so much better now than it was four years ago. It's astonishing that Withers is a defensive coach.

Satchmo You're the man but that certainly wasn't the biggest day in the history of JMU - not only did we get it again 2 years later but I'd say our win over VT or one of our two natty's would be the biggest day.

Agree about Withers - the only thing defensive about him is his wife on twitter

Could not help but notice that had qb under center at times, fullback at times and blue helmets...and won.

Hahaha that poster was amazing and you know it. Got on the broadcast multiple times and everyone complimented me on it even Spatter fans. It also made College GameDays Top signs of the year I think i was like 18th best sign of that year.

Definitely wasn't the biggest day of my JMU life even at the time.

Nah I'm not into Fortnite big Destiny guy though.

Withers may be the interim head coach of my NY Giants if things keep spiraling out of control with Pat Shurmur. Giants need some JUICE.

Don't know what your poster means but I'll take your word for it. I'm glad you're now proud. A few years ago I posted this and you strangely got very upset I had posted a picture of something that you put out publicly on the Interwebs yourself. You should be proud. Your parents should be proud. Your boyfriend should be proud.

Overall you guys sincerely did a great job with the posters. I loved watching that college gameday, a lot of fun for us too as the opponent. The texts were flying among Richmond fans I can tell you that. My favorite was Richmond? More like Rich Mom and Dad.

I don't know if the posters and the fun hate had anything to do with the 59 spot and 700+ yards we put up on the biggest day in JMU history but maybe it did.

All I could think of after reading your first 7 words was “Let it Be”.
Ha! Good one...I was thinking Carole King / James Taylor...You've Got A Friend..."if you're down and troubled and you need a helping hand"...

completely zoned on "Let It Be" and now have an ear worm for the evening...

Go Spiders!

thanks for the shout out Dirty...I guess like beauty, history is in the eye of the beholder...

I'm guessing most Dukes would agree with you about the Tech win (BTW, we've beaten them 9 times, including the 1985 win which helped grease the skids for Bill Dooley's exit and Beamer's arrival...sore losers they haven't played us since 1986!) and the National Championships being the biggest moments in the University's sports history...

When I reference JMU history I'm talking about the University's history, not just the football or sports teams...

after all Madison College just became James Madison University, what roughly 50 years ago?

there's not a lot of history there...

I guess prior to Game Day that BOT decision in the late 60's to allow men to attend may have been the University's most historic day...

All the 2015 Game Day buzz and hoopla created by ESPN exposed JMU to millions of football and sports fans "across America and around the world" that may have never heard of the University and Harrisonburg before...

I bet a lot of them checked the score the next day too...sorry to spoil the historic day...

Go Spiders!

I don't know if this is appropriate for this board, but my father who was a UVA grad said that Madison College was known as the play house for UVa when he was an undergrad. I don't think they had any men enrolled at the school in those days. I'm sure things have changed as they appear to be the play house for a lot more schools these days. No offense intended to any JMU grads, especially women grads, for those who can read and understand if any.

This was so much better before the moderator edits.

And that is an opening for a different anecdote...

Last week a friend of mine was playing music in his car through the drive thru.
High school student cashier asked what it was, he said "Let it be".
Cashier asked "Is that for Frozen 2 as a follow up to Let it go?"

That is when my friend decided he was officially too old for this world...
