The 3 is optimistic
Anything is possible unfortunately. By any reasonable measure, we should be able to win 5 of our remaining OOC games. Two should be losses and one I see as a toss up.

If we go 7-6 it would be another mixed result that won’t cement any clear action. It’s an underachievement given the anticipated sos. I figure we’re maybe 8-10 in conference which puts us under .500 for the season if so.

Yikes.

Carlin recruited KA here, so I would give him a pass for having worked under Mooney. He's also had a few other good jobs since he left. He would be a very nice fit.

You can tell the guys are starving for a coach. They've stopped playing for this one. U don't lose at home to Hampton if playing hard.

The more I think about it, the more I think Nancy Lieberman would be a great hire as our next coach. She was a coach for G-league NBA team and an assistant coach for an NBA team as well. She has a strong background in coaching professional basketball style of play that can be transferred to UR. This style of coaching plus the fact she is very well connected to the NBA world will be a huge positive with recruiting. Nancy also has a winning mentality. She has been successful throughout her life. Having someone with a wealth of coaching experience at the highest level, a strong recruiter (which I believe she will be), and great facilities that we will have, is a big recipe for success. She can also bring in TJ as an assistant and teach him for 6-7 years before he becomes the next UR coach (or coach of another program before then coming to UR).

Granted there are other candidates to consider as well, and who knows if Nancy would even be interested in coaching at UR, but if interested, she would definitely be someone we should put on the list of next coaches to consider.

LOL. Benjy Taylor former UR player, asst at CSUB liked that Coaching Changes tweet. I wonder what Buck has told him.

Would be the best CBB coach hire in many years.

I like him. Got his a$$ handed to him for a few years and then realized he does not have UNC players and ADJUSTED and ADAPTED and now wins. Up and comer.
Mike Longeran, recruited student athletes for GW. Fired for AD lies, railroaded out of town. GW forking over big bucks for unjustified firing. Great recruiter and great coach. Second chance in the A-10 would be an inexpensive hire.

Sorry, did not mean to post a reply to B,s post.

Nathan Davis’ wife already has a realtor doing the leg work......

“I am excited to welcome Nathan and his family back to Bucknell,” said Hardt. “The Bison men's basketball program achieved unprecedented success during his tenure as assistant coach, and he is intimately familiar with what it takes for our student-athletes to succeed both in the classroom and on the court. Nathan has the experience and ability to build on the program's established foundation of success and lead our program to new heights.”

just saying -- Nathan Davis has been a HC 9 prior seasons -- with 9 trips to post season -- If Hardt were to bring him in I would not be upset

I agree. Sometimes the best option is right under your nose.

Look, by the way, at the ooc schedule they assembled up there, which includes the tournament in hawaii that will have a couple good games that dont even appear yet.

We had discussed Davis so much last year that I tend to disregard in my mind. However if you look at his record, he is good.

Our schedule is just a complete joke. Look at Radford's schedule: Notre Dame, Texas, Clemson and Maryland.
Mooney just keeps backing up. It is a slide that he keeps making more slippery every season.

Spider nation is happy to help in anyway possible. Plenty of options if they wanted to go back to Ashland or be closer to campus.

Cabell Childress?

Cabell just sold my house in Mechanicsville a few months ago, great guy. We now live in Ashland (my wife works at R-MC). Would not mind Davis as our coach, and I could probably get behind Jason Williford as well (used to play pick-up hoops with him and Milton Bell at the Northside Am Fam back in the day).

Mooney has to go, the sooner the better.

I lived in Church Hill and Barton Heights (Lamb Avenue) between 1987 and 1997. Played a lot of hoops at the 25th Street playground in Church Hill and the Northside Am Fam off Brook Road. Those were some rough neighborhoods back then, not sure how I made it out OK.

The kids I grew up with Ginter Park were scared of going to Chandler Jr High due all the tough kids that went there. So we rode city transit to Albert H Hill and to TJ.

Did you ever venture south of Brooklyn Park Blvd down North Avenue? I lived at 2016 Lamb Avenue for about 8 years. It was a pretty rough neighborhood back then, lots of crime and shootings. We were one of the very first renovators in that area back in the late 80's. Now Barton Heights is the hottest real estate neighborhood in RVA. I reckon I was just 30 years ahead of my time!

Did you know Jay Warfel? He owned North American Transmission on Boulevard for many years. He bought a really nice house on a nice block of Seminary Avenue in the late 60's. Super nice guy.

Did not know Jay. No, we pretty much went as far as Parker Field and Brooklyn Park Blvd was our outer limits. I was on East Seminary and rode my bike all over Ginter Park. Many were members of Ginter Park Community Center and hung out there swimming and playing basketball. North Avenue that went behind Ginter Park Elementary was sort of a zone separation that started the rougher neighborhood. In rec football we played Barton Heights and played at Hochess Field football and baseball. Amazing how revitalization has changed so many of the old rough neighborhoods.

Thanks a lot Spider B, now I am on Wes Miller kick again since you brought him up. Really really like this guy. This is just the guy to come in and re-energize the fan, players, everyone. He could do a 3-5 year wildly successful stop over and then take over for Roy. I do like Nathan Davis too. That seems more realistic. The biggest problem I can see is that we have lost so much relevance in the last 6 years that we may not be much of a step up. More than ever we would look like a lateral move to many of those on Goodman's list.

Nathan Davis sounds like the makings of a nice little chant at the RC this winter. Just saying. I think Hardt might smile a little inside if he heard it.

Let's give it until February but i'm for it.

After hearing Hardt this morning, I am convinced more than ever that our pain is coming to an end in Mid-March.
Yes, listened the first couple of callers, and at first was disappointed in lack of message. But listening again I feel a vote of no confidence could be inferred. He told one guy to call in and ask Jim Miller about the 10 year contract. He even said 10 years was "EXTRAORDINARY" to quote.

Have to believe with connections to Hardt and Randolph Macon - Nathan Davis will be on the top of the list come March.
