It’s going just as expected. Deer in headlights for this team. VCU might win this by 40.
Our guards are small. I understand why... but they aren't going to grow overnight. Is it too much to ask to have a plan for the fact that we have twenty years of evidence that they're likely gonna get attacked and posted up either by larger guards or on switches that we seem to allow at will? Seriously, why does this always look surprising to us?
Its crazy... it plays into this bizarre narrative. I haven't seen us with a single open look yet aside from Soulis's layup. To be fair... its hard to get any open looks when your ball handling/passing looks like a high school JV team.
Tanner is completely lost out there. Beaten on backdoor cuts multiple times and isn’t comfortable with the ball.
F it, give me a Tyne, GW, Tanner, AP, Soulis lineup. We will lose by 20+ regardless at least do it with guys who will be here for the next couple years.
Coach for life isn't worried. He has the built in excuse that DH is out.
Add Walz and Graham and im totally fine with this. I just wanna see AP get a tech or something. Scream at someone. Honestly, I've never said this before but at some point the actual basketball becomes secondary. Our identity has to change or its just rinse and repeat.
VCU with a 99.5% chance of winning according to ESPN analytics, so we've still got a chance down 22!
This is complete speculation, but I’d be surprised if all 5 of these guys are back next year. This feels like an off-season where we’re going to have major turnover.
I think the 0.5% chance is basically if a meteor hits the Siegel center
And next year too when we have 4 freshman. And the following year after that when those freshman transfer out.
You’re probably right. At this point they could bring in 13 new guys and get the same or better results so who cares
Fair enough to this point and that even seems reasonable..... but then based on the current state of things ... we should be able to bring in transfers to replace them right? Thats how it works now?
But then it takes those guys three years to learn our system... so then what?
As things exist currently I think we need to ask serious questions about how we fit into the current "recruiting" landscape..... because it sure feels like last year was a total anomaly at this point. They look completely lost with no sense of purpose on either end.
The good news is we’ll still be passing the ball around the perimeter forever into shot clock regardless of who is on our team.
