Mens: NET '24-'25 Rankings

So, a coach who won an A-10 tourney title and a dance game in 22 and an A-10 regular season title in 24 should not get an extension? And, despite the numerous conference titles and success several of our sports programs have had since he got here, you feel taking yet another jab at Hardt is justified too?
Not when the coach hasn’t had a back to back 20 win season since the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. And you can’t blame all of it on the portal.

Skinn off to a good start with GMU. They got to raise their first Kenpom 100 banner since 2012 last season, and now kenpom ranked 78 so far this season. GMU never had as great results as their roster seemed under English. Never understood the big time interest in him, other than he is a tall good looking man, that played in the NBA. Guess he has the Mooney "looks like a coach" thing going for him. I think the seat is already getting hot for him at Providence - he only has one really go to scorer on his roster - and he has been out hurt a lot and they have looked pretty bad at times.

Kenpom is showing this one as 72-59 GMU. So Traps powers that be should be very happy if we can keep it in single digit range.

Providence did Mason a favor for sure. Never understood that hire. 56% career winning percentage, positively Mooneyesqe. Providence won't put up with that though like we do. He either starts winning or he will be gone.

Yep, already seeing rants on twitter from Providence fans. Definitely more and higher expectations from their fan base. Again, Moon has it so easy here. That is one thing he has/had going for him, when he had the initial success with KA, he knew enough that he had it easy here and did not want that smoke of a power league expectations and accountability from the AD.

This is why Mooney is never leaving. His performance would not fly at any program higher than ours (and shouldn't fly at the A-10 level either).

He was only half a Mooney term - he had 11 seasons at URI. But even worse results - 0 NCAA's. I think we knocked them out that one season, really good game at URI - was planning to go but we got a Northeaster that dumped about a foot and a half.
I remember that game. Moon's first NCAA team w/KA, Gonzo et al. Butler hit a really long 3 (by the 2010 standards, today not so much) and I think it may have been URI's only home loss that year. I also remember a tweet saying that UR may have locked up a bid with that win, URI on the road was a really good win that year. Granted that team had won a game vs Florida in Sunrise, Fl and had beaten Miss. State and Missouri in S. Padre Island. Lost to VCU and W&M in the OOC, so some things never change.

Long time since UR could lock up a bid with an A10 regular season win. That game, 15 years ago, to be precise, now that I think it over. Bc the next year UR won the A10 and still only got a 12 seed, meaning a loss in first couple rounds of A10 would have been dicey chances for a bid.

15 years.
