Posted about Misterwives band leader who went to UR and started think that there have been several alums from UR who have become prominent musicians. Here’s several I could think of and found in wiki, in order of most listeners on Spotify.

1. Wesley Schultz - lead singer of Lumineers. 21.3 Million monthly listeners.

2. Lil Dicky - rap artist. Also has a show on FX called Dave. 4.3 million monthly listeners.

3. William Hehir - bass guitarist of Misterwives. 1 million monthly listeners.

4. Dave East - rap artist. Also played basketball at UR. Transferred to Towson. 879.3K monthly listeners

5. Bruce Hornsby. Did not graduate according to Wikipedia. 233.2K monthly listeners.

6. Band name is DogPark. Recent alums. Met and formed band at UR so I think everyone who is a member is an UR alum. 196.7K monthly listeners.

Anyone I’m missing?

I believe the manager of Dave Mathews Band is UR man. Also I thought another member of the band had UR connection.

I'm not aware of anybody associated with DMB having a direct connection with UR, though that certainly could be true.

Agents of Good Roots was big in Richmond in the '90s and Brian Jones was from UR. Think they still play shows once in a while.

Bruce Hornsby attended UR the first semester of the 1973-74 school year. I did not know him, he was from Williamsburg. He does not appear in the 1974 Web with other freshmen.

Apparently he was so busy with his band (at that time) and his growing music career that he was hardly ever on campus and dropped out after the semester. he later returned to school at W&M and graduated.

Wish he would’ve graduated from UR, but oh well. You could say it is “The the way it is”.

I know the family well as I grew up in Williamsburg. Bruce transferred to the Univ. of Miami and it's well known music school where he graduated.
