KEEPING THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE

Think Spiders will keep it in perspective but not sure about Hoo fans after reading part of that extremely sad season is over after one game blame it on London thread.

I can't forget the Gardner Webb game couple years ago when we had almost beaten (and should have won) NC State. Hope we beat the snot out of Norfolk State

There's no hoping about it. We will do it, particularly with NSU on a short week now.

Elizabeth City State (D2) at Norfolk State, 6pm tonight. Have to think Spartans win this going away, with starters probably getting rest in 2nd half. Indeed a short week for them, and they have a 2-3 hour bus ride up here on Friday.

I know we are all terribly excited about beating this P5 school.Hoos have a very short week. They fly to Oregon on Thursday.Mendenhall doesn't work on Sunday's and only until 6:30pm on weekdays.
Not sure how many,if any, games the Bowtie U wins this season.Maybe UConn in 2 weeks.Maybe Central Michigan in 3 weeks. That's it.

Not to mention a head coach that may want to fraternize with old friends up here on Friday Night.

Any chance at Wake?

Funny to have Latrell on the schedule after beating an ACC team. I don't think this will be like 2011. Starting with the head coach - we are more stable this time around.

Agreed. It's great having a coach that probably took his wife out to a quiet dinner Brio Tuscan Grill at Stony Point mall upon returning to town last night.

All seriousness....what kind of reception does Latrell get Sat night?

Booing just like any other road team, louder booing and trash talk from the stands, or crickets?

I would anticipate more of the trash talk from the stands type deal. I would consider this more like a Mickey Matthews visit than any other coach visit.

In all fairness, if the Latrell situation doesn't happen do we ever end up with Rocco? Does our program have 2 more CAA titles, a semi-final and the current group we have right now with so much potential? Would we stomp UVA yesterday with whatever coach we had? Personally I'll give Latrell a standing ovation.

The reality is that you are correct. Our clueless administration would have spent the last 5 years trying to figure out a politically correct way to fire a mediocre performer.

All good points - very happy with where the program is. The odd LS portion of the journey was part of getting us to where we are.

Some of you on here act as if he was a bad coach at UR, his downfall was on a personal level. I wish him the best, but just as long as NSU is dispatched back home with an impressive lost too.

Back to the topic, I don't recall the year or the details but we've had a season start out with a FBS win then went 3 an 8. Stay focused

The tail end of London and the LS experiment put us in a weird place as a program after a string of success. Rocco has taken us back to where we should have stayed after the NC run.

All that said, I don't expect Scott's visit to make much of an impact on anyone. We've got bigger things on our mind this season, like getting to Frisco.

Jim Reid said one time, that only means we will not go winless
