2024 Richmond Spiders Football - Opponents Countdown - Bryant

Give it a rest. They're a bottom NEC team.
I stand corrected. Bryant is the bottom ranked CAA team. That is better than being the bottom rated Patriot or NEC team.

This year the Patriot League is the 9th rated FCS conference, while the CAA is ranked #2.

We are jumping into the 9th best D1 conference from the 2nd best.

I did not realize the Patriot was that bad. Only one of their teams has a winning record.

Not sure what the minimum is for attempts, but Coleman going 15–16 (93.4%) would be a team record for completion percentage in a game, topping Aaron Corp's 31–34 (91.2%) against Towson in 2011. Throw in Snelsire's 4–4 today and the Spiders completed 95% of their passes.

We’ll see if Bryant has a CAA level communications group if they put out something highlighting their 7-0 performance in the seacond half of the game

Towson, Hampton and William & Harry are all vying for a playoff spot. They are all on our schedule, as is Campbell, to close out the season. Our road will be difficult, but the mountain can be conquered.

Will also closely be monitoring Rhode Island’s next 2 games vs. Monmouth and at Delaware. Need them to go 1-1 or hopefully 0-2.

Richmond 41, Bryant 14
Box Score

Richmond (6-2, 4-0 CAA) sprinted out to a 34-point halftime lead behind four TD passes and a rushing score from quarterback Camden Coleman and defeated Bryant (2-6, 0-4 CAA), 41-14. Coleman finished 15-of-16 passing for 278 yards as the Spiders extended their winning streak to six.

Bryant took a quick 7-0 lead on its opening drive as Marc Taglieri, Jr. caught a 23-yard scoring pass from Brennan Myer. Richmond dominated from there, getting TD runs from Coleman (4 yards) and Zach Palmer-Smith (1 yard) to go up 13-7. Coleman followed with a 60-yard strike to Nick DeGennaro, a 15-yarder to Palmer-Smith and a pair of TD tosses to Jerry Garcia, Jr. (36 and 16 yards) to put the Spiders ahead 41-7 at the half. DeGennaro had seven catches for 162 yards. Making his first career start at quarterback, Myer threw for 121 yards and 2 TD’s.

Hummel was dinged, but came back to play later.
Brown at RB dinged and I do not know if returned, but I think he walked off on his own.
Hodges at DE dinged but walked off, I do not remember him returning.
Thaos Figaro at DE did return or this game after missing time during the last few weeks.

Hope all ok. By end of game, they were playing all the young guys, so I hope they are all fine and they were just not needed.
