Look, we just weren't prepared for Elon's black bedsheet of death on the sideline. We'll be ready the next time we see something like that, I'm sure.
There are some weak links but it is not Coach H. There are some strong links on this team, Kyle being one. It was a tough loss because we all have our sites set high. We can still achieve success this season. I love the way Spider Nation has set the bar high. When I can on 6-5 was considered a good season. I hate it when all of a sudden the world will end because one got away from us. I hope the players take this loss as a wake up call. We can still do some great things this year.
Punting on 4th and inches........You'll have to show me an example of us making 4 and 1, so far I don't believe there hasn't been one, this year have we had what 4 or 5 opportunities......think about that.... how pathetic is that?I agree with you overall (as usual), but Huesman does not get a free pass. The first timeout call of the 2nd half (on 3rd and 2 after Summers ran out of bounds*) was terrible clock management. We could have used that timeout later in the drive - in fact we ended up leaving one on the board. If we had two left, Elon would not have been able to take a knee to run off the end.
*Side note - the non-call on the facemask by Summers on the 2nd down play: I don't ever believe one call determines a game but that should have been 2nd and 17. Everybody on the visitor's side of the stadium saw it and several even yelled it out while it was happening and yet the Line Judge did not reach for his flag. It was plain as day on the scoreboard replay, too. If Huesman used the timeout to chew out the referee, that's even worse.
I've stated elsewhere my belief that punting on 4th and inches on the first drive (in Elon territory) sent the wrong message - to both teams.
I think we're now 0 for 6. We suck on 4th and 1.Punting on 4th and inches........You'll have to show me an example of us making 4 and 1, so far I don't believe there hasn't been one, this year have we had what 4 or 5 opportunities......think about that.... how pathetic is that?
glad you reminded me...what the heck was that thing's purpose?...whatever, it must have worked...Look, we just weren't prepared for Elon's black bedsheet of death on the sideline. We'll be ready the next time we see something like that, I'm sure.

Go Spiders!
If we can't find a Way to make 4th and 1 with all our offensive weapons we need to call it a season no excuse for this
i thought the same but noticed because the angle was some time off it also could have been a way to provide contrast in a background so the players on the field could see the signalsDesigned to keep the coaches in the press box from watching the signs on the sideline.
We went wildcat at SHSU in a"and goal"situation and Collins fumbled the snap. One of the 4 times in the red zone where we didnt score. The short yardage issues are concerning. We are not a great run blocking team in terms of just lining up and moving people off the ball. Even last Saturday we got down close to the goal line and threw the ball 3 straight times resulting in a field goal. A lot of teams around college football have started using their qb in the run game to provide and extra blocker and pick up those hard to get 3rd and 4th and shorts.
We obviously have an incredible passing qb...you can certainly argue the best in school history...but he's not a guy that we are going to run QB powers with ala Broaddus the last few years. Maybe we need to put in some kind of wildcat formation utilizing one of our four rbs to supplement our issues in short yardage. We have excellent talent at QB, WR, TE, and even RB but our run blocking problems make us one dimensional and you can only be so good when you aren't balanced.
Fair point. I was just going by this article https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sb...all-coaches-stealing-signals-signs-play-callsi thought the same but noticed because the angle was some time off it also could have been a way to provide contrast in a background so the players on the field could see the signals
Are you available in 2 years? We just flat out suck and coaching has a lot to do with it. Huesman just doesn't get our guys prepared to play a football game like Rocco did. He's a nice guy but I don't think he gets the guys very fired up to play and that is a huge problem. Like I said before give him two years and if we don't make the playoffs in either year he needs to be out. We need to keep the program up as a top national contender, especially with Delaware rising up and apparently now elon and even albany. I don't think Huesman is the guy to keep us up at the level program we want to be. Its important that we decide quickly if he is or isn't that guy so we don't lose ground in the conference and nationally.
Oh I do think signal stealing goes on all the time and I'm ok with it, part of the game. But if that was the black sheet guys purpose he needs some geometry lessons. A couple of times we would have had to have a spy on the tennis courts for the sheet to block the view.Fair point. I kind of agree but Huesman was left with a lot of talent also, so does Huesman not get the credit there either? My complaint is the 4/2/5 doesn't give us enough beef up front, and that call was Huesmans. Our depth and talent on both lines, in particular the D line, seems to be lacking. That's not on Huesman, that's on Rocco. Not sure how anyone can see what Huesman did at Chattanooga and determine after only 4 games here that he can't coach. It's clearly an emotional knee jerk reaction from an immature kid.
Let's see what happens after the bye week. We can score points. If we can get the defense just playing average, we will win a bunch of games. Frankly, we have had guys in the right position to make some plays on D, we just haven't made the play. We have not tackled well, but hopefully that can improve. If we can hold teams under 30 points and we win most games.

We need a minimum age limit for this board....
Is there a function that relates the two parameters?Make it 2 dimensional.Age plus dumb index.
I agree I think he is a good coach, but the reality is we'll see.Winners are winners. To suggest Huesman can't coach is absurd.
He did inherit a very good team.I agree I think he is a good coach, but the reality is we'll see.
