Forecast for Fordham

If you are under 7 ft tall and can't shoot 60% from the foul line, you shouldn't be allowed to play college basketball. And Cayo shouldn't be in the game during the last 5 minutes.

I mean our defense is so bad really even in this game. We really have no ability to keep people in front of us and no desire behind that to rotate and be tough on defense. None whatsoever.

gilyard is exhausted shots not even close, so why is the play called after time out a 28 ft shot by Gilyard. Even the TV announcer thought it was odd.

Are any of the 81 watching this game.

Cayo saving our bacon today even if he cant shoot FT. Just hope he isn't somehow saving somebody's job.

you have to keep the ball out of Cayo's hands now that it's shooting fouls

5 points in six + minutes to start the half. This game is going to be first one to 50 wins - - - except nobody make make it!

But I can hear the Pro-Mooney faction now after a 49-47 loss - - - it will go something like this - - - Wow were we great on defense. We have come so far defensively its unbelievable. We held them under 5o - - - we're a lot like UVA on defense now. I know, we scored in the 40's too, but we know we are a good team offensively - - we've proven that so we can just ignore that. If we hold teams under 50 next year we should win 23-24 games easily and be dancin for sure!
Hmmm . . .12 secs left and nobody has hit 50 yet

did the RTD even send john o'connor to the game? No tweets so I doubt it.

jeez, can't you just leave it at kudos to the kids?
No I can not - - - not after watching that debacle. Quite frankly the kids deserve better than what they have coaching them! And I can provide PLENTY of details that show why we have much more of a coaching problem than a player problem. For starters just go look at our zone "offense". Fifth grade girls who practice 90 minutes a week run that offense. But I digress for the moment in my frustration - - - they deserve credit for playing hard and winning - - - despite everything!

Gilyard won that game in spite of Mooney's stench all over it.

I don’t think Mooney is a good coach, but I thought he was fine today. Guys just weren’t making shots. We should’ve had 70 at least if our guys had made layups and foul shots

Good for the guys to get the win and advance. Hopefully if nothing else these tourney games give us some more experience and positive momentum for next year.

But I digress for the moment in my frustration

I can't tell you how many moments I've have like that for many years now with Mooney's coaching. We all know the kids are good individuals and also know they need a new coach teaching them. I think I can say for all anti-Mooney posters here, we all feel for them more than ourselves.

love ya, Philly, but I have no idea what you're watching. that goes for most of you, so blinded by your frustrations that every thought is tainted.

Jacob is awesome. he was awful today. happens. but he got great looks. he didn't shoot 2-14 because of Mooney or a badly run offense. he missed shots.

Goose was 1-10. Grant struggled too. but no, our shooting poorly today isn't on Mooney.

and I'm not arguing that he should stay. do I have to repeat that again. too many people here can't think straight anymore. so for the health of the program, or the fan base, he should go if we can do it. but there's this constant warped belief that every missed shot, or foul shot, or rebound, or rain drop is Mooney's fault. it's ridiculous.

Thank goodness he was out there. He scored eight in the last 5:30 and won the game for us. I mentioned I wasn't sure he was a 30+ minutes a game player for us, but I'm glad he played a lot and carried us today. I have to give him a lot of credit. His game has improved tremendously, and hopefully he will get even better in the next two years. But, he does need to start all over on free throws with new form and everything.
