This thread is funny in hindsight. Put out the warning that it was not the time to do an extension. But what’s funny is now Mooney has 3 years left.

and according to guys like spiderman and Trap contracts need to be 4-5 years to be effective. So contract extension? Based on that prior reasoning Mooney is up for another extension! Curious if u guys r advocating for an extension. I can’t imagine anyone is doing that. Except perhaps UR who just wants to reset once again for perpetuity.

so here we are. Either he needs an extension after season or we cut bait I guess. Too bad we just didn’t do the smart and obvious thing and hold off on extension this past summer or include a very favorable buyout at the absolute minimum. The decision making at UR is off the charts crazy.

the gist of what I was saying 6 months ago in this thread was if we (Hardt) still felt Mooney was the right guy and we wanted to give him the best chance for successful recruiting then I liked the extension for two years. team looked good. picked to win the A10. we outperformed expectations last season and had a big class to recruit.

this year, of course you don't extend. more importantly, the last extension shouldn't influence our (Hardt's) decision this year. if Hardt realizes Mooney isn't the guy then you have to be able to eat that contract. hopefully we're financially capable.

it’s fun to laugh at the program for the joke it has become. I used to get pissed years ago —now I just laugh because they’re incompetent and an embarrassment to the rest of the university community.
At the end of the day, Mooney isn’t going anywhere.

He has has 3 more years on his contract.
UR is not going to pay for a buyout in this covid environment, + new coach salary when the endowment is down ~4% and revenue is an issue.
New Pres was just announced today, with start date of Aug. They’re not going to make massive personnel changes until Hallock is installed and does an assessment of the Univ.

That said, PQ is still running the show
