Now do transition points given up. Of course there is a trade off. There is also a trade off with the type of bigs we have had the past 7 years. TJ and Grant are great offensively, but neither could jump very high and neither was going to be a Burton type and snatch a lot of boards. Also, our offensively efficiency has been really good over the years, and a big reason is our play from TJ and Grant at the top, rather than underneath the basket. Sure, maybe our rebounding would be a little better over the years with more of a jumping athlete down there, but wouldn't our offense suffer? And, those that can do that and give you what TJ and Grant give you offensively are usually at a power school and NBA bound. Yes, style of play with our big out front and offensive efficiency matters and very much will affect our rebound stats. I will give up a few rebounds for a guy like TJ or Grant every season.

And, are you just using total rebounds? What about teams that play really good defense and force fewer shots during a game? Won't they get fewer rebounds as a result?
Why micro-manage CM,s tenure at UR? Conference championships, tourney championships, NCAA appearances are the high bar? Without Kevin Anderson CM’s record would be zero.

Gilly is shooting about 10% below his career average from 3. He is the unquestioned leader of this team, a senior. If he is hitting his career average, we would probably be 9-1. He needs to step up his offensive game. It has been very disappointing this year.

He was 1-6 from 3 against St. Bonnie and missed a huge one on one in crunch time. First team, all A-10, all American candidate, he needs to step up.

Y'all get on Blake for shooting too much, someone has to be an alpha out there and take and make big shots. I'd like it be Gilly, but the only alpha traits he is showing me right now, is his Grant level of bitching at the officiating.

No question that the Spiders need the return of the sophomore version of Gilly. Some say he took a lesser role last year because the team did not need him to score as much. If that is true, he should be able to turn it back on again.

Personally, I think a starting lineup change is the only way to make it happen. But I know I am in the minority on that opinion.

What type of change? Goose in for Francis?
That is correct. Doesn’t even have to happen in every game, just some. Of course, at the moment such a change can’t happen. I am happy that Goose isn’t being rushed back though. Need him back to 100% and no return to street clothes.

I simply think that having Goose in adds a needed element on D and that not having Francis in would make Gilly have to look for more offensive opportunities. When Francis is in, Gilly always seems to defer.

I also think if Francis came in off the bench, he would bring more energy into the game. It seems like the Spiders always start out slow even when Francis is in. So why not bring a charge into the game after it starts?

Let the arguments begin!

Francis got off to a slow start but is now our leading scorer. So, I don't think you bring our leading scorer of the bench.

Again, just going off of play, it is Gilly not Francis who is underperforming in comparison to previous years. Also attitude wise, Francis is the same dude. This whole stomping your foot routine/getting mad at the officials is new for Gilly and in my opinion not a good look.

I do think Gilly fed more off the crowd than some other players and not having them this year might be impacting him a bit.

You obviously don't bring Gilly off the bench, but Mooney has to do something to get him out of his offensive funk that he is in.

Jacob is playing great but not shooting well. for us to be special he has to be that great shooter, especially without Nick.

we've got 5 guys averaging double digits. that's amazing. but nobody would have expected Jacob to be 5th in scoring per game with the 2nd most shots. he'll get it going. he's too good not to.

Anyone know how his minor health issue is progressing?

and I think most would agree with the lack of proactiveness in this case.
Whatever. A sixth man can still be a very significant scorer. A10 sixth man of the year last year was Perkins from SLU. 2nd leading scorer by 0.5 pts. If you got more output from Gilly, you would take it.
