The Trump Administration

Actually, the great corporations grow without adding overhead. They take advantage of advancing technologies and challenge the norm of always doing things the way they've always been done.
So "great corporations" don't ever grow their workforce?

The federal government has been doing more with less people as individual productivity has surged. I'm trying to figure out where all the bloat is as we have fewer feds with a much larger population to serve. And indiscriminately firing people makes zero sense,

Are you counting on Trump and Musk to take advantage of advancing technologies to take the place of the agencies and departments they are destroying? Don't hold your breath.
I'm personally not counting on anything. Just making a point that adding people to the equation isn't always the answer.

Umm, he didn't say workforce, he said overhead. Those are two entirely different concepts. Yes a firm can grow without increasing its overhead. Most firms want to control their SG&A. The Federal Government has no qualms about hiring. Government spending pushes out private investment.

Trump has now hired 20 former Fox News employees to leadership positions. That's a network that admitted in court that its shows are merely entertainment and not designed to be news (although of course they are promoted as factual news programs) and that paid a $787 million settlement for knowingly broadcasting and amplifying lies about the 2020 election. But of course it's the NY Times, Washington Post and Associated Press that we should be worried about, according to Trump's minions.

Insanity and stupidity on repeat.

See Starbucks laying off 1,100 employees. Thought they were like government jobs, guaranteed for life. ;)
Starbucks has competition. Its share of the retail market rises and falls, and its employment numbers adjust accordingly. If Dunkin' is taking away a share of its business, it doesn't need as many employees.

Who competes with the DoD? Who competes with the DOT? Who competes with HUD? Who competes with the Department of the Interior? Who competes with the IRS? Nobody.

All government employees have probationary periods to determine if they can do their jobs. No one is guaranteed a job for life.

How many thousands of Pentagon workers will be fired for no reason, other than Fatso flexing his muscles? Do you think the Pentagon's workload or responsibilities will decrease when thousands of employees are fired? No, they'll have just as much work, just fewer people to do it. And military personnel will have to fill these civilian jobs, taking them off the line.

Same with the IRS. There will be just as many tax returns to process this year as last year, probably more since employment was so high under Biden. Now there will be thousands fewer people to process those returns, to answer questions, to check for mistakes, hidden refunds, or fraud. And your return might get delayed.

Oh, and nice to see we're voting on the same side as North Korea and Russia at the United Nations. What a great peer group.

Are we winning yet?

Haven't heard much from JV Dunce lately on the price of eggs. Gee I wonder why. He promised to bring the cost down immediately, I guess the surcharges restaurants are now charging is just part of the process.

We're heading for the recession that accompanies every GOP presidency.

The wolves are in the hen house.

Probably every top member of the Trump team, including the President, has been harassed in some way by the IRS. Musk has demanded about 7,000 IRS Agents be cut. It will probably be more than that.

"As part of Musk-driven cuts, about 7,000 IRS employees are expected to lose their jobs, a person familiar with the matter has said."

Trump's level of immaturity and 7th grade bullying is unmatched and unprecedented. From the Richmond Times Dispatch yesterday in an article describing Musk's emails to all federal workers demanding a return email showing 5 things they accomplished in the past week:

Trump mocked the affected workers in a meme he posted Sunday on his social media network. The post featured a cartoon character writing a list of accomplishments from the previous week led by, “Cried about Trump,” “Cried about Elon,” “Made it into the office for once,” and “Read some emails.”

This is the President of the US mocking all federal employees. Nothing but class from our President, I hope all the Trumpsters want their kids to grow up just like him, he is such a role model. Please, can anyone defend this juvenile bully behavior?

Pure speculation on the every top member comment. As for Trump, if you think he has been harassed by the IRS, I guess you don't think he would cheat on his taxes. He's cheated on pretty much everything else he has ever done, including his wives. Remember, this is the same convicted felon who took the 5th Amendment over 460 times in the NY civil case. I wonder why? He had previously said no one who wasn't guilty would ever take the 5th. His middle name should be "Cheater", with "Liar" and "Grifter" tied for a close second.

Steven Colbert's five suggested replies to Musk's "five things you did last week" e-mail:

1. Your mom.

2. Your mom.

3. Your mom.

4. Your mom

5. Your mom.

Can't spell "felon" without "Elon."

Today in insanity:
* The White House announced it will hand-pick the reporters who get to ask Trump questions (but I thought this administration was all for free speech and no censorship??)
* Trump introduced the idea of a gold card for Russian oligarchs that they could buy for $5 million (but I thought we were closing our borders?)
* Trump's always angry press secretary refused to name the person who is in charge of DOGE, a government agency (so much transparency!).
