WM is 3 points away from having SEVEN GUYS in double figures. I don't think I've heard of that before.

I've tried to stay patient with this group, but I just don't see how it gets any better. We just shot 54% from the field, 44% from 3, and 83% FT and still lost. We are atrocious defensively, have no athleticism, and can't create easy shots for ourselves. This is the least impressive team I've seen in my 10 years watching us. I really don't think we're going to win more than 4 games in A10 play, and think we could challenge the '06-'07 team that won only 8 games all year.

We may. This is a really bad basketball team coached by a mediocre coach at best. Flagship sport of the University. I hope Mooney quits.

Yet mooney will discuss how our offense is coming around, and we were "close" to shooters.
Complete embarrassment by this team. When announcers say your are being bullied by WM and it’s the truth it’s a sad day for UR program. They were obviously more athletic and put up over 90 points on a group that plays no defense. Total lack of accountability continues for Mooney who consistently puts together a product that underachieves. Half of our wins are against D2 teams and other than Auburn a pathetic non-conference schedule. Looks like the wrong program is getting NIL and moving to a lower conference.
No serious program at this level could win the regular season title one year and then follow it up with a total shitshow of a season like this without heads rolling. Except for the University of Richmond, where accountability does not exist.

Sorry, but this is not the year that happens. Both vcu games will be 20+ point losses, and it would be a miracle to finish .500 in league play. This team is particularly bad.
Moon moves to 2-4 at W&M & will be moving to 9-27 overall vs VCU. Just gave up nearly a hundo to W&M after the indignity of being 3.5 underdogs.

I feel bad for the kids the same way i felt bad for them during the St Joes game in the tourney last year. I saw no adjustments at all in-game tonight. None.
Walz comments aside... I actually do like the emotion from this group. It's something we haven't always seen from our guys outwardly... even in some of our more capable teams. But i'd like to see them get a little more help.
Perhaps the coaches know the capability isn't there to adjust. Im willing to accept that possibility, but if not, there seems to be a plan A and nothing behind it ..... almost ever.... it seems.

The thing I think I was most surprised about tonight was that we weren't willing to go zone to slow them down AND we were weren't willing to run with them. I don't understand those two things together, AT ALL.
If you wanna play man-to-man and you're getting decimated on the defensive side, then at least run with them and see if you can outscore them.... certainly you have to at least pretend that they're not more talented than us, right? Again, its f'in William and Mary.
But, instead, we struggled to beat the press the entire second half .... and when we did .... with them having three guys stuck in the back court... we'd still pull the ball out and try to set our offense with like 12 seconds left on the shot clock.

Funny, a former D1 head coach told me the exact same thing 10 years ago at an AAU tournament, calling it the best job in the country. Big bucks and Zero pressure to win.
