Agreed. Local kid with big time offers. UR and VCU should have been both all over him. Obviously, Rhoades sold him pretty well to remain in his top 5.
lol. that would be incredible. but thank goodness he didn't do that. he's a tarheel as expected.
T, his AAU stats were 10 and 8. Sure, he averaged many more against the local private scholl competition. Wish both him and you nothing but the best.

Mo, this is probably true, but the best for the A10 is a far cry from same in the ACC or any P6 conference.
Bacot against the big boys in AAU:

it was a courtesy. VCU can't afford him. i would think, as you like to say, an example of Rhodes not being able to close
he's a big guy playing AAU ball on a team with great guards. do you know how hard it is for a big guy to get the ball in AAU? he probably shot 80% from the floor to get those 11 ppg, and mostly on offensive rebounds!

No one is questioning the ability of Bacot. Point is he is not elite at this point; he would be at Duke if he were. He may develop over the next two years and be one and done, but at this point he is not yet there.
Agree, and Nike EYBL is basically P6 talent. Probably a good fit for him. UNC is one of the last of the old school type of offensive schemes in that they will play two true bigs and throw the ball into them.
If he went to Richmond you would have declared him the best basketball player who ever lived.

We might be pretty good if Bacot and Andrew White both start for us next year.
We would still not be able to rebound. Bacot is what 6'9 and super athletic, but really tough to rebound when your coach demands that you run back on defense to prevent transition buckets.
