Yes, I noted that today's starter Tim Bury threw a complete game 4-hit shutout against us on April 28th. Hopefully we can get him figured out today.

Blum did have strong start against Dayton, going 6 innings and giving up 1 earned run in our win against them.

Could be a duel today, although I like the way our bats are working all the way through the lineup. Having Forrer and Mallory in the 7 and 8 spots in the lineup is quite formidable.

Hopefully McConnell, Mayers, and Cowell stay hot. They went 6 for 10 yesterday with 2BBs, 3 RBI, and 5 runs. Even two of the outs were hard hit line-drives that SLU was lucky didn't end up hits.

St. Joe's scores in the bottom of the ninth to pull out a gutsy 3-2 win over URI to stay alive. They take on SLU later this afternoon to make three games for them in 24 hours. If they can somehow beat SLU they'll go again right away against the loser of the Richmond-Dayton game. That would be four games in 27 hours for the Hawks, with last night's having been a 13-inning affair...wow.

Not sure on exact start time for Spiders-Flyers, was supposed to be 1:30, but not sure when the St. Joe's game ended, so we'll see if they make the tight turnaround and stay on time.

I just read that the first pitch is at 2pm.

That would be a ridiculous stretch for St Joe's.

Down 3-1, top of the 4th inning. We've given away a couple cheap runs because of errors. 3 errors so far.

Come on Spiders!

Wow are we imploding. Death by errors, slow and painful. Hopefully these will even out.

Damn, just checked in and it looks like we have given up 6 unearned runs on 5/6 errors.

We got one back to pull within 7-2 and got a nice 3 up 3 down inning. Blum is battling.

Need to get a big inning here.

Picked up a run in the bottom of the 5th, to pull within 7-3. We did leave two runners in scoring position.

Had a shot at that big inning and could not come through. Stranded runners on 2nd and 3rd with only one out.

Instead of down 4 runs we really should be up 2 maybe even 3 runs. Gave away 5/6 runs with poor defense and not scoring runs when we have the chance.

Frustrating to see them giving away such a great opportunity.

If we lose this game not only do we have to beat SLU again but we would need to win both games against Dayton on Sat and Sun.

This game literally forces two more games if we lose.

We would have to go 5-1 to win vs Dayton only going 3-0 or 3-1.

We pull within 7-4 on a solo shot but Ruzbarsky.

3 up, 3 down for Dayton in the top of the 8th. Blum has really had a nice outing. He just needed more help from his defense.

We fall 9-5. Have our work cut out for us now.

Next game will probably be later this evening.

Really a disappointing game. Going to be really tough to advance now. That was a game we could/should have won.

spiders beat STL in bottom of ninth. Make it to championship game for second year in a row! Way to go guys!

In the DC area, first championship game is on FIOS channel 94 @ noon. Hopefully, there will be a second championship game, which will be back on the A-10 webstream.

Agree. Ryan Cook will probably see work today too.

Mayers tried to pitch last night. Unfortunately, he wasn't up for it.

Gutsy performance by Bret Williams, coming off his own injury.

Down 3-0 after 7 innings.

Had a good chance in the top of the 7th but couldn't get a clutch hit from Mayers or Cowell.

Made another big mistake in the bottom of the 7th trying to throw out a runner stealing 2nd ase with 2 outs and a runner on 3rd. They threw to 2nd and Dayton was able to execute the double steal for another run.

We lose 3-0. Congrats to Dayton.

Good luck to our departing seniors in their next endeavors.

Great effort by the guys, just came up a little short. Came on strong at the end of the season. enjoy your successes and get ready for next year.

Match up vs Dayton didn't go well this year.1-2 at home in tight games and 0-2 at neutral site(A-10 tourney).Flyers have a nice "small ball" team which shut down our long ball today.Sorry to see our senior firepower graduate.Dayton likely to be a 4th seed in regional given A-10 RPI.

Good effort by the Spiders winning 3 games in the tournament. I like the idea of a pool play tournament rather than the double elimination one the A 10 uses. In pool play we could have had 8 teams participating with 4 in each pool. You play each team in your pool once and the winner of each pool plays the other winner for the championship. All teams play 3 games under this format with 2 advancing for a 4th and championship game. In this tournamet we played 5 games and would have had 6 if we had advanced.

^^Shows you the type of respect the A10 gets nationally these days.

Hopefully the Flyers can make some noise, but it looks like a very difficult draw.
