A MOVE BACK

just viewed DR's preseason thoughts on the offense and we are moving back to a pro-style, under center type of system and away from the shotgun, throw first mentality. like that he is able to be flexible and hopefully put the team in the best situation based on talent. we have an experienced line, excellent backs and a new qb so sounds like the right thing to do, run first. with all the spreads and wide open Os out there, still enjoy watching wisconsin and arkansas run the ball all over their opponents. we still have really good receivers and if our qb can run a tad, we could be fun to watch. main thing is, at this level, you have to score and score a lot, to win consistently. our top teams score 30+ per game so no matter what we run, we must get into the end zone.

Our QB's will be running options too which is of concern given our lack of depth at that position.
Remember John Laub.Ironically his broken ankle vs UNH opened the door for Strauss.Luckily we had depth back then.We are 2 deep with experienced QB's presently plus a scholarship frosh and a preferred walk-on frosh.

I love it when you have a coach that understands that next man up means your job is to have next man ready to come up or in. Got to make sure everyone gets reps in practice and the game when possible.
