In 2016,UR plays six(6) home games including Norfolk State(H) on 9/10, Colgate(H) on 9/24,and UVa(A) on 9/3.

In 2017,UR plays Colgate(A)on 9/9,Howard(H) 9/16,and Sam Houston State(A) on 8/31.

In 2018,UR plays Fordham(H)on 9/8,St Francis(H) 9/15,and UVa(A) on 9/1.

In 2019,UR plays Fordham(A),BC(A).Two(2)more OOC games are forthcoming,likely at home.UR will play 12 regular season games in 2019.

Man, I would really like to get Furman back on the schedule in the near future. Very similar schools and we compete for many of the same recruits, which may be why we don't schedule them. We had some great games with them not too long ago, that playoff game was a classic in 05. It was too bad that phantom holding call ruined the end of the game for us.

Rod Smolla (new President at Furman) was Dean of UR Law School, maybe we can get something going that way.

I know. I am just kidding around because we have 3 Big South games. We could lay claim to that conference, as well as our own.

If my memory is correct, UR plays Vanderbilt in 2015. Have our FBS opponents for the years 2016-2020 been revealed?

I think JOC did an article some time ago about this but I couldn't locate it. I think you are right about Vandy. I don't think there are any scheduled after that. btw welcome FrontRoyal

From JOC's UR Football Notes this morning:

Upcoming FBS foes for seven years

UR will continue to play one ACC team per season through 2018. The list involves Virginia next year, N.C. State in 2013, Virginia in 2014, an undetermined ACC opponent in 2015 (not from the state of Virginia), Virginia in 2016, Boston College in 2017, and Virginia in 2018.

The Spiders have played an ACC opponent each year since 2008.

I hope we play the Terps. They aren't far from Richmond and maybe we could get a bball game with them too. They used to play us.

we played Maryland at city stadium in 1977 I believe and lost 27-24. Close game at the end. I remember we had the ball inside the Maryland 10 yd. line with seconds remaining and we threw a 4th down pass to a fairly open tight end in the end sone that was dropped for what would have been the winning score. Jerry Claiborne was the coach at the time.

I was at that game. It was late in the season and if my memory is correct, snow flurries were coming down in the fourth quarter!

Any update on the 2015 Maryland game? We still show playing them on our site (as of 7/17) but they don't show us on their site. Are they still awaiting authorization from the Big Ten?

Richmond, James Madison and W&M often face ACC teams. Madison received $400,000 for its 2011 game at North Carolina, and Richmond is guaranteed from $250,000 to $350,000 for upcoming games vs. FBS opponents. The Spiders are scheduled to play at N.C. State this year, at Virginia in 2014, at Maryland in 2015 (the Terps join the Big Ten on July 1, 2014), at Virginia in 2016, at Boston College in 2017, at Virginia in 2018, and at Virginia Tech in 2021.

David Walsh, Richmond's deputy athletics director and the school's point man for football scheduling, said the Spiders haven't heard from Maryland regarding the 2015 game. He added that overall, "it's early yet to speculate on the future of playing these (FBS vs. FCS) games. … Obviously, they are important to us and we want to keep playing them. It's important to our football program and important to our overall department."

I don't know why the questions about MD. They have us listed on their schedule.
Needless to say, living here in MD, I get told about it on a regular basis by my friends that know
I am a Spider.

I doubt it will be northwestern. I think they (B1G) have a rule about no new FCS scheduling now. We scheduled Maryland before they made the rule and before they joined the B1G.
 
Saw that.75,000 Mr Washington's going to Spartan coffers and they are looking for a return trip.Probably our entire gate for the day.Not sure if this game was agreed to under Miller or Gill.

I'm not sure how they figure the gate, but with season tickets and the NSU purchase of tickets, I would assume we do a little better than $75 M
