you guys cut out the belittling one another

Mr. Moderator, please look at the thread to see who started this foolishness. If the poor fellow disagrees with your posts...he'll attempt to demean you as the thread clearly shows. In deference to your request...I'll cease.

LOL A real Catch 22 here. An 'empty helmet' should know 'nothingness' or shouldn't it? Just something to ponder.

Considering where we were after the Fordham loss, I'd take a good shot at 6-6 in a heartbeat. Candidly, I probably would have taken 5-7 too. Let's put on a good showing up at the truck stop on I-81 next week and then win one against the Indians to take the overall series lead.

We have some things to build on for next year ... But it feels like it really has to happen next year. 4 years of no playoffs for this program and how we invest in it is an eternity.

i think after fordham, we all would have been happy with 6-6 ,but the problem is there was the fordham game and it was a season killer, that game was there for the taking , as well as the yale melt down , teams that we should have beat, i am not expert enough to know why we didnt win those but the fact is we didnt, if we would have we would be talking playoffs this year, now instead of a playoff program , we are a wait till next year program. i know russ is going no where but as the head of the program this season has to rest at his feet.

when this season began NO ONE trusted what we had a QB. The first 4 games didn't solve that issue. Since Maine, Mancuso earned and has solidified the spot. But know that coming into the season, most this board's pre-season picks, where having us in the 6-6/7-5 range.

I’ll be honest, I don’t really feel bad about yesterday. Yes, we got shut out in the second half but Nova didn’t exactly light the world on fire in that half either. They did enough to win. Going into that game I don’t think many people expected them to lose four in a row. That reality probably hurt us a bit. We lost two running backs in the game. That’s not minor.

It sucks that we couldn’t keep the momentum going, but we did a lot of things well and were right there at the end. I doubt that anyone expects a win next week, but who knows. Win the next two and I think we’re in.

Our last playoff absence was four years (yes, we got jobbed in 2012). Coincidentally, it followed an FCS quarterfinal loss when our coach was already one foot out the door. I also hope this gap is shorter by a season.

The media had us at 4 wins this year. We've already exceeded that total.
After the Fordham loss, we've been the underdog in every game. 5-5 when 2-10 was the expectation is showing the fight in this team.

You can’t overlook the fact that we have 40 plus freshmen on the roster. I also agree that losing both RBs yesterday hurt our offensive game in the second half. The overall trajectory of the program is up and we are improving. Next year we should be really good. Let’s beat JMU and W&M!

What do our coaches do at half? Consistently out coached second half. Please make adjustments. 28 first half and 0 second half points says ur out coached again. Tired of Russ taking blame. Make it better. It’s his job

This has been a strange year (the Fordham and Yale losses coupled with some really nice CAA road wins and a convincing win over SB). Losing the two RB's on Saturday obviously really hurt our offense. I thought we would see more QB runs by Mancuso in the 2nd half when we still had the 28-21 lead to try and manage down and distance and control time of possession. I was a little surprised how many lower percentage deep throws we attempted but you hit one or two of those and its a probably a different outcome. We've been saying this for a few years but this offense really needs a RB to step up, remain healthy, and become that "alpha" player. We haven't had that since Jacobi Green. Having that type of threat at RB opens up the play action game and lets you not have to rely so much on the QB run game where you always have the risk of your QB taking a hard hit. Frankly, we just need to run the ball better and get better push up front consistently. Overall I do think we've improved as the season has progressed. I'd love to see us play a good, clean game in Harrisonburg and finish up with a win vs the Tribe.
