I actually was at the game and so I saw it and therefore don't have to make assumptions about what might have happened. We gave Maine a ton of wide open 3's, the flying dutchman defense was in full effect. Maine just missed them.

We keep playing defense like this, good teams are going to be lighting us up.
crazy how we went probably a full year or more with very minimal mention of the Flyin' Dutchman and won quite a few games, now it's back with a vengeance and we are struggling mightily

A10 Game 7 - VCU

I didn't see the game, but it seemingly exemplified their obvious problem: no frontcourt. Clark and Fermin: 57 minutes, 3 for 10, 7 points and 8 fouls. Pretty pathetic. They could be starting for us with lines like that. Bamisile 3 of 13 from three. As a team 9 for 37. They have two very good guards and a lot of undisciplined inconsistency after that. Sometimes, the too guards will be enough. Other times against teams with quality frontcourt players, they will be at a massive disadvantage.
VCU doesn't bother to even look at Fermin on offensive sets because he sucks. Clark plays 25 ft. from the basket.

Most here want Mooney gone. The only way that happens, without another serious health scare, is if we keep losing.

Probably best if I just check out of basketball threads for a while.

I think there are some who want Huesman gone, too, but he keeps winning and thwarting their plans.
Again it's a big logical leap that you're making for people and the things don't equate. Wanting Mooney gone =/ wanting losses.

Pointing out actual historical data like NCAA appearance % or win % vs VCU =/ wanting losses. As you say, he's here for the duration. It's fair for people to point out what the results have been and question why that is. Neither of which means people here don't want to beat VCU every time or make every NCAA. On the contrary, if there is no chance a change will be made why would anyone ever root for a loss?

Women vs W&M - 11/21

Another dominating and impressive performance for the ladies. Its such a stark contrast to the men at the moment. Just everything about the way they play is impressive. And listening to the coaches is such a huge difference. And don't even get me started on my reaction when they start discussing the ladies' upcoming schedule. The last 6 games of the ladies OOC are Oklahoma St., Georgetown, Columbia (NCAA at-large last year), Texas, Tennessee, and Alabama. 2 of those are at home (including #4 Texas), 3 are true neutral sites and one (Columbia) is technically neutral but its in Henrico, so not really neutral. ZERO of them are true road games. Have the Mooney men EVER (you know before it got so hard to schedule) had a schedule so impressive.

I feel certain that I will be watching more of the women the rest of the way then the men!
So many great things about these lady Spiders!

-Incredible team spirit and passionate play. Confident. Team players.
-Great Offense and flow, crisp, quick passing and floor vision, chemistry... 82 points tonight matches their season average!
-Great Defense. 47 pts tonight was the 2nd MOST points given up so far!
-Incredible schedule. Please come out and support them. Take the day off for the Texas game!
-Outstanding coach! Watch him on the sidelines coaching them up regardless of the score. Always looking to improve and clearly has a vision.
-Personable players and coach. So likeable.
-True Spiders who seem to love being Spiders. Pride!
-Coach even mentioned excitement about the football game on Saturday and following them this season. Love the Spider spirit!

Go ladies! Keep making us proud!

2024 Richmond Spiders Football - Opponents Countdown - William and Mary

Will never forget the beatdown he gave to the WM defensive backs when he ran through them in the 1973 game at WM.
He scored one TD right in front of our end-zone seats, hit the DB at about the 5-yard line and knocked him into the end zone. Some dude from UR fell out of the back of the grandstand that day and dropped about 15 feet but wasn't hurt at all. As I remember it I wasn't feeling much pain either than day; I had a friend from my hometown who went to W&M and we all went to a friend's frat house for the postgame.
