there are some athletes who just have it. amazing that she probably has not had the best coaching compared to her peers on this team yet she is there. watching the olympics and missy franklin the swimmer from colorado has a seemingly similar story. her parents said that they were approached by those in the know telling them that she should be in california getting top flight coaching and training, refused, yet she is a world-class swimmer. some athletes just have it, are special, one in a million. BW has things in perspective and know she will learn, improve and have a great experience with this, really proud she is a SPID

Nice dig on Peter Albright, ya ever think that he made a recruiting coup by getting her? She hadn't played organized soccer since 8th grade and his training has brought her around to be an All American. Give the coach alittle more credit.....

There are people that are naturally gifted with tremendous muscle tone and athletic ability. The old expression you cannot teach speed, well sometimes there are a lot of other attributes that go with it. I remember coaching young folks in baseball and basketball at around 13-14 years old, and would watch them try to play multiple sports and be very good at all, but just flat out wearing their parents and themselves out. A good coach will see this and discuss with the parents and child what sport they like best and then suggest they focus on that.

Becca, may have been one of these types and was able to go back and forth at later age without missing a beat. Let's enjoy Becca's run in Spider sports and the US National team and don't worry about the past cause her future is extremely bright.

you missed my point by a mile. am sure that all of both Becca's and missy's coaches did a fine job with them but both ladies missed out on some national type coaches at an earlier age yet they both got there. was not knocking any of her coaches at all.
